Liberals waging war and putting a smiley face on it when they kill for the wrong reason.

I am probably going to catch a lot of flack for about what I am going to write. After dealing with people in this country, maybe Obama is right that this country should be lowered. We are very arrogant and stubborn. People do not care about one another. Maybe we deserve punishment. Even the people I know who go to church act terrible and act selfish.

I am very frustrated.

Personally I don’t want to see it because I think we should be the best. However, a lot people in this country do not have the good character.

The only reason Hannity and BOR come out in favor of Obama’s “speech” is because Soros declared war on Fox News. The suits at Fox News are scared into submission. Bank on it.

We’re there for a reason. Euroweenies don’t want their chief source of oil destroyed. We’re not there saving the lives of slaughtered Libyans, we’re there so that Euroweenies don’t go without oil.

Slaughter is what that Palestinians did to that Iraeli family. Slaughter is what Mexican Cartels and gangs are doing in Mexico and in the US to many innocent people. I suppose I’m asking too much for him to be disgusted with that.

Soros is funding a Jewish student group and is hiring interns to investigate and bash Beck. Beck showed the job posting description on his show tonight.

I don’t understand how you can say that. OF course it is...not head chopping here, just stating facts. He did not follow the war resolutions. There has to be an attack on the U.S., Statute passed by congress, or a War Declaration.....none of those apply. UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Am I missing something?

But I'll be the one to put my head on the block and say it is not unconstitutional at this juncture.

How about extra Constitutional? He goes beyond his authority granted him.

The President does not have any powers not granted him. There is diplomacy and then there is war leadership (not declaration). Where we are now is war that has been termed a preemptive action in the past; however, always with the caveat that there was a real or perceived clear and present danger to US interests and that the President had to act prior to engaging with Congress.

0marxo wages war and calls it a humanitarian effort. There is NO real or perceived clear and present danger to US interests that enables the marxist to bypass Congress.

The marxist is so far being allowed to set a dangerous precedent here that needs to be slapped -we did not anoint an emperor when he was elected -he does not possess the power to wage war as he sees fit. The marxist needs to be called on the carpet ASAP

[Replace “Libya” with the word “Iraq” and “Gadaffi” with the “Hussein” and his speech sounds just like the war he hated and criticized.]

This sums up exactly most of that pathetic, hypocritical speech. I was screaming this very thing over and over at the television until I had to leave the room to “drive the porcelain bus”. :)

Summary of “The Obama Doctrine”
Use of force is not permissible unless such intervention clearly does not serve US interests.

What made me want to throw my shoe at him was when he said he didn’t want to wait until there were mass graves of dead Libyans. He didn’t give a crap about the mass graves in Iraq, or the chemical warfare used on the Kurds. This guy is so unqualified on so many levels to even work at Foot Locker, let alone run a country.

I say it because it is the law of the land. This is what Congress said in the War Powers Act of 1973:

Sec. 5 (c) Notwithstanding subsection (b), at any time that United States Armed Forces are engaged in hostilities outside the territory of the United States, its possessions and territories without a declaration of war or specific statutory authorization, such forces shall be removed by the President if the Congress so directs by concurrent resolution.

This section is a tacit admission that the POTUS has the power to use military force without a congressional resolution or declaration of war.

Now that says nothing about Odipsticks wisdom or hypocrisy but it is the law of the land.

Congress has the power to pass a law tomorrow and shut him down and they should.

Hopefully though after we kill Ghadaffi since we owe him some 5.56 in the head for past deeds.

I think you overlooked this section:
SEC. 2. (c) The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.

Further, a resolution does not change the Constitution -that would require an ammendment.

Finally, what you term "a tacit admission that the POTUS has the power to use military force without a congressional resolution or declaration of war" which is a violation of the Constitution EVEN if some resolution is interpreted to okay it IS REALLY a section that discussed congressional actions IF the president has engaged the military in a conflict. It does not claim the President can do it but rather what should happen IF he does.

Again -a resolution does not change the Constitution.

I suggest you keep it simple rather than trying to create special powers where none exist -the left does that well. We do not need to start doing it even if the ends might be good the means must remain lawful.

War Powers Act of 1973 also says...

SEC.

Which of those three circumstances are met by Libya?

You want simple? Try this.

Terrorists take 1000 Americans hostage outside US territorial waters on an Italian cruise ship. Congress is not in session. The terrorists kill 100 Americans and say they will kill 100 more per hour until America releases all terrorists worldwide.

The POTUS can not get authorization from Congress because they are not in session. There is no declaration of war. A national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces has not happened under the circumstances I described.

According to you and Sec. 2. (c) of the War Powers Resolution the CIC can not make war on those terrorists to save those American civilians. So they all die.

How's that for simple Beers?
