Donald Trump’s calls this week for President Barack Obama to release his birth certificate prompted negative reactions from pundits who would like to turn the tables on Trump and say, “You’re fired.”
However, Trump’s comments, made most recently in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, also garnered support from those who wonder why Obama has not supplied documentation of where he was born.
Trump rekindled the longtime controversy Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” when he said Obama was “probably” born in the United States, but he wants the president to prove it with a birth certificate.
As for the critics, Brian Lowry of Variety got personal. “More than anything, Trump looks like a buffoon — an egomaniac hopelessly addicted to the spotlight, floating the prospect of a presidential run to a gullible media to boost interest in himself and ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’" Lowry wrote on the magazine’s website.
“Moreover, he seems in complete denial about the fact that his NBC show crested some time ago. Seriously, 8 million viewers or so is ‘through the roof?’ Only if the ceiling is about three inches above your head.”
David Weigel of Slate magazine took up Trump’s challenge to show him a photo of Obama as a child. “I've seen 14-year-old,” Trump said. “I've seen 13-year-old. I haven't seen early pictures." Weigel’s column includes a photo of Obama as a child that appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 2008.

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, a friend of Obama's parents in Hawaii who said he remembers when the future president was born, first vowed to produce an original copy of the president's birth certificate this year.
But he abandoned those efforts because it is against state law to release private documents, CNN quoted his spokeswoman as saying.

Because the cause has failed in the courts, it is not Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.'s problem now, and really never was. It is our problem. Not one court has deigned to hear our case on its merits. a prominent dissenter is in prison. Not one elected official on the national scene has publicly agreed with the premise. As far as the general public goes, the general consensus on BHO, Jr. seems shocking close to 50/50! As far as ineligibility goes, shockingly few people even seem concerned. Even on this site, freepers are pushing Rubio and Jindal as national candidates when it is painfully obvious that neither is a "Natural Born Citizen."
IMHO, we have lived through an obvious anti-constitutional coup, and a rather successful one at that. It has stuck us with an ineligible but nonetheless sitting President until 2012. Perhaps we can make sure this never happens again, but given the apathy ... and antipathy ... which surround the issue ... it doesn't look like a good bet.
Any Governor, Any State Attorney General, any Congressional Committee, any Federal Grand Jury; could end the nonsense this afternoon.

My schedule has become such that I can’t post much at all these days. However, I’ve seen enough of the SP’s posts to identify a pattern of increasing desperation. He is becoming more irrational and illogical, and ramping up the lies and misinformation. He obviously no longer cares that much of what he posts is transparently false. Trump has rattled his cage. Let’s hope—and I’m serious, here—the SP has an epiphany, gets sick unto death of lying, deceiving and spreading misinformation, and comes over to the the right side. It’s a long shot, but always a possibility. As a convert he would make a good asset [and it would be far better for him on a personal level, too]. ;)

But he'll provide an invaluable ‘How it is!” voice on the stump as he has no constraints like measuring his words to avoid political/media attack. And, particularly in business/economics and world wide business contacts - he's an expert. And he ‘nuances’ nothing. He speaks people's English. People will listen to him.
He knows that, in a Socialist regime - which we are on the brink of becoming - he, and other business magnates, will fall.
So is his prime objective to preserve his empire? May be. But if he saves HIS empire - he saves businesses/free market across the board. that goes a long ways toward saving America.
Kind of a John Galt scenario? A free people do not work ‘for the good of society’ but pursue and use their INDVIDUAL talents for their own sake. They create best when left free to build their dreams, unfettered by interference and controls from people and gov’t who couldn't ‘create’ an escape from a paper bag.
Society then benefits from their creations as an offshoot.

The political and Hollywood powers that be have fought this movie from ever being made for decades. They are going to hate this hitting the screens. I hope they attack it full force. It will insure that people will see it - great promotion.
This first of three will get people heretofore clueless to thinking. The second in the trilogy comes out next spring - another whole layer of people will wake up and as they hear the politicians on the stump, bells will ring. It's all here sonny. It's not “Special” information. It was information freely available to the public, that required people to go and actually get the specific records in question. Things like Congressional testimony from the late 1700 and early 1800’s. It required actual hands on research and photocopying and photographing the actual records themselves.
It's called RESEARCH. The information is all there, it just has to be FOUND.

Yes all Abercrummy had to do was just come out and say he personally viewed the birth certificate and BHO was born in HI at such and such hospital. That would at least have been something. But what he said was it appears there is no birth certificate but there is a notation written down in the archives. Later they started covering up by saying the Dept of Records could not legally release the BC.
While many voters can name every Oscars winner, they haven't a clue to the founding fathers much less what they wanted to build. However, they can understand a scam. If Trump would read thelist of missing documents and show Hussein played the foreign student card to scam scholarships and get multiple SS#, that might wake the majority up.
No James. No one says that. Naturalized citizens are citizens. Their children, if both parents are citizens and they are born under the sole jurisdiction of the U.S. are Natural born citizens. The description you give is a red herring and untrue. Only a person who does not under stand “sole jurisdiction” would say such a thing.
At Punahou, he got in on scholarship but we don't know that it was for foreign students or not. But I suspect he got it through one of two ways. Madelyn's bank boss was a board member of Punahou and the link below speaks to that and there was some other source from way back but I can't recall who from. Or, a two bird one stone deal, he got it because Punahou was very connected with Kenya. His teacher did summer sabaticals there and there have been many benefits, trips and money given by many employees. Your statement was not what the decision said. It did not specifically deal with the issue of “Natural Born” citizen. Only citizen.
IF BHO’s father is truely Barrack H. Obama, Sr. then Obozo is the son of an English Diplomat. And consequently is not a “natural born” U.S. Citizen. The only way he is a “natural born” U.S. Citizen is if someone other than Barrack H. Obama, Sr. is his father and that person was a U.S. Citizen at the time of his birth.
As I already posted, the government in US v Wong Kim Ark specifically asked the Supreme Court to rule on: “Are Chinese children born in this country to share with the descendants of the patriots of the American Revolution the exalted qualification of being eligible to the Presidency of the nation, conferred by the Constitution in recognition of the importance and dignity of citizenship by birth?”
And the majority decision stated that:“The term “citizen,” as understood in our law, is precisely analogous to the term “subject” in the common law, and the change of phrase has entirely resulted from the change of governments” hence “subject and citizen are, in a degree, convertible terms as applied to natives.” Accordingly, “[a]ll persons born in the allegiance of the King are natural-born subjects, and all persons born in the allegiance of the United States are natural-born citizens. Birth and allegiance go together. Such is the rule of the common law, and it is the common law of this country, as well as of England. . . . No other court has ruled differently and no higher court has reversed the decision in Ankeny.
I don't fly on Birther Airlines at all, but what's with your singleminded focus on this topic -- determined to defend Obama?

You left out that in U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark they cited precedents from Minor v. Happersett that already defined Natural Born Citizen. As usual you are disingenuous.

These were natives or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further, and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction, without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case, it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient, for everything we have now to consider, that all children, born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction, are themselves citizens.’ Minor v. Happersett (1874) 21 Wall. 162, 166-168.”
Under Happersett, a natural born citizen is clarified to mean born citizen without a doubt. Doubt entered the picture due to Obama being born a British citizen under The British Nationality Act of 1948, in effect at the time of his birth. He cannot be, as a state of nature, considered a born citizen of the United States, when he was born British.
Has any court referenced Minor v Happersett but used Wong Kim Ark as guiding precedent to rule that Obama is a natural born citizen? Let me answer that for you: “YES!”
Minor v Happersett was a 14th Amendment-women’s suffrage appeal that had nothing to do with natural born citizenship and attempting to foist off dicta from a decision as the court’s actual ruling is disingenuity at its ugliest.
