Donald Trump’s calls this week for President Barack Obama to release his birth certificate prompted negative reactions from pundits who would like to turn the tables on Trump and say, “You’re fired.”
However, Trump’s comments, made most recently in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, also garnered support from those who wonder why Obama has not supplied documentation of where he was born.
Trump rekindled the longtime controversy Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” when he said Obama was “probably” born in the United States, but he wants the president to prove it with a birth certificate.
As for the critics, Brian Lowry of Variety got personal. “More than anything, Trump looks like a buffoon — an egomaniac hopelessly addicted to the spotlight, floating the prospect of a presidential run to a gullible media to boost interest in himself and ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’" Lowry wrote on the magazine’s website.
“Moreover, he seems in complete denial about the fact that his NBC show crested some time ago. Seriously, 8 million viewers or so is ‘through the roof?’ Only if the ceiling is about three inches above your head.”
David Weigel of Slate magazine took up Trump’s challenge to show him a photo of Obama as a child. “I've seen 14-year-old,” Trump said. “I've seen 13-year-old. I haven't seen early pictures." Weigel’s column includes a photo of Obama as a child that appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 2008.

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, a friend of Obama's parents in Hawaii who said he remembers when the future president was born, first vowed to produce an original copy of the president's birth certificate this year.
But he abandoned those efforts because it is against state law to release private documents, CNN quoted his spokeswoman as saying.

There is no birth certificate for Barrack H. Obama, Jr. in HI. NONE. Nor for Barry Soetoro. There is no record in any hospital in HI of where he was born. He is a total Fraud.
Good question, Carley. What is Trump's true motive in this? I can't believe he wants to POTUS any more than Pat Paulsen did in 1968. And isn't his current wife Slovenian? Is she an American citizen? (not that it would make a difference in his qualifications to run...just wondering)

How can a man born under the British Nationality act of 1948 be born under the sole jurisdiction of the United States and therefore be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States?

Plenty of court cases that Obama has been in involved with where he could show any of his birth certificates (LoL) or even a short form COLB. It's not too late for Obama to officially introduce his birth certificates for a court of law.

A Natural Born Citizen is one born under the sole jurisdiction of the United States. That requires two parents who are citizens, and be born in our territory. The reason it takes two, is because otherwise the child inherits the citizenship of the other parent as well, it means that child is born under the jurisdiction of another Nation because that child’s PARENT is under the jurisdiction of that other nation. Particularly in the case where the child inherits the father’s citizenship.
Obama’s father is British. Obama was, in the instant of his birth, born British and if indeed born in Hawaii, also American. He was born under the jurisdiction of two Nations, and Obama admits this. The instant of Birth is the only one in which Natural Born Citizenship can be attained or not. It cannot be retroactivated, it cannot be bestowed after the fact. It is a condition of birth as much as eye color is, as much as DNA is.
You are NOT a Natural Born Citizen if you are born under the jurisdiction of more than one Nation, if you are not born under the sole jurisdiction of the United States and the United States only, you are not and can never be a Natural Born Citizen of this Nation.
I state again, Obama is an Usurper. We do NOT have a constitutional government.
