How high up does ‘Project Gunrunner’ go? (Who knew what and when?)(gunwalker)
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 25 March, 2011 | Dave Workman

The Project Gunrunner scandal took another step up the government food chain with last night’s disclosure in a CBS News interview with a former senior official with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives that the operation was approved by someone in the Department of Justice “even higher than ATF Director Kenneth Melson.”

The question “Who knew what, and when” became part of the national lexicon during the Watergate investigation a generation ago. Now it may become part of the fabric of the Gunrunner probe.

In this morning’s Seattle PI.com, columnist Joel Connelly complained about the gun traffic to Mexico, and how efforts to stop the flood have been impeded by the “gun lobby.” Gun rights activists suggest he is directing his anger at the wrong people. Instead of railing about the gun lobby, perhaps he should be asking the ATF about all of those guns the agency allowed to cross the border, they contend.

Or, as drug cartels murder thousands in Mexico, nervous Southwest states might be lobbying the feds for measures to obstruct cartels' large-scale gun purchases in the United States.—Joel Connelly, Seattle PI.com

Former ATF senior agent Darren Gil, who was the agency’s top gun in Mexico, went public with serious allegations that he and other ATF officials were denied access to agency computer files related to the Gunrunner project and its Operation Fast and Furious, based in the ATF’s Phoenix office.

Presidents have people who are around to make sure they have "plausible deniablity" so Obama probably didn't know.

Holder on the other hand needs to go to prison. He knew and probaly thought it up himself

Zero says he never knew and not a peep from the media. Wonder if they’d give Bush that latitude?

Exactly. If first learning of something of this magnatude he should have been incredulous and demanding information, not saying without any emotion that he knew nothing.

According to Democrats and the liberal media, President Bush knew of every single detail his in administration, approved of every deed and misdeed, and was ultimately responsible for every event. However, Obama knows nothing, does nothing, and is responsible for nothing. They’re digging like crazy to blame this on Bush ...

Reagan was beat about the head with howls of “Iran Contra”. He said he hadn’t known about it, but the left still howled, “Iran Contra”. Reagan took responsibility for it anyway and apologized to the country.

What is this current thing? Obama’s “Mexico Contra”?

Who knew what and when?

How high up does ‘Project Gunrunner’ go?

Well, our fearless emperor needed data showing US guns killing people in Mexico so he could go for a renewed assault weapons ban.

He, his Sec of State, head of Justice Dept, and his Director of Homeland Security have all grandstanded on the Mexican drug/civil war gun issue.

Draw your own conclusions.
