Yes, but she wanted intervention when it really could have mattered on 22-Feb. When the rebels were winning and closing in on Tripoli, when the ambassadors of Libya were defecting, at that time if the US had even moved troops near, Ghaddafi would have realised that there was no win from this situation (he may be mad but he's still smart to stay in power and knows when to leave it -- remember he was making hmmm... noises when Obama said "go").

But now there is no point. The rebels are defeated. The only thing that can happen now is chaos

The win in Afghanistan most certainly HAS made the US and the world a safer place. That is definite.

There was more than enough time for Obomber to bring this before Congress and ask for their speedy consideration.

Perhaps they would have said, “No”, but that is their role.

Imbecile. Without the help of F R A N C E in our war of infependece er would have beem toast. Remember Lafayette?

Did you miss this>

But in that time, Americans followed the dictum of Washington, Adams and Jefferson: Stay out of foreign wars.

America "goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own," said John Quincy Adams in his oration of July 4, 1821.

Lafayette came to the colonies to help in the revolution.

The Onbama Doctrine -

Actually derives from a Soros Doctrine called Responsibility To Protect. This Doctrine mandates the establishment of a huge, overwhelming force which will be used any time, any place, any country where people are dying. Libya is the first teething use of this doctrine.

Why are U.S. pilots bombing and killing Libyan soldiers who have done nothing to us?

With all due respect, this is inaccurate.

The Libyan government was at war with the United States for decades, including the Lockerbie bombing which killed well over 100 Americans. Numerous other Libyan assaults on Americans were prevented.

We largely ignored this war because we didn't want to respond, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.

Most of the individual soldiers being killed haven't done anything to us, but that applies in every war.

...and where did the fleet that embargoed the British as Yorktown come from?

Almost comical irony.

The French were helping themselves. But really, what does 18th century French foreign policy have to do with 21st century foreign policy? Are you suggesting we are obligated to provide military support to revolutions around the world because we sought and received help from the French, who had their own reasons for siding against the British?

No, just that without foreign intervention and assistence we would not have achieved indep in the first place. Whether France had its own interests is beside the point.

Here's a hint:

"The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible."
