It’s an unfair portrayal of Sarkozy. But I must say that Sarkozy has made a gigantic mistake with the Libyan business. And unfortunately Obama jumped on board, seeing his chance to help out al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. So Sarkozy can’t easily back off.
Now what? They’ve managed to railroad Turkey into agreeing to pretend that NATO is in charge. Who is going to stop these idiots? Boehner? I think Angela Merkel is showing good sense, but I doubt if she will do more than quietly stay out of it.
Your point is well taken, but we should remember that it was Sarko who kept Turkey from joining the European Union, mainly because Turkey is not European. He should be given credit for that.
