Deep divisions between allied forces currently bombing Libya worsened today as the German military announced it was pulling forces out of NATO over continued disagreement on who will lead the campaign.
A German military spokesman said it was recalling two frigates and AWACS surveillance plane crews from the Mediterranean, after fears they would be drawn into the conflict if NATO takes over control from the U.S.
The infighting comes as a heated meeting of NATO ambassadors yesterday failed to resolve whether the 28-nation alliance should run the operation to enforce a U.N.-mandated no-fly zone, diplomats said.
Yesterday a war of words erupted between the U.S. and Britain after the U.K. government claimed Muammar Gaddafi is a legitimate target for assassination.

You can’t blame the Germans refusing to fight another democrat war.
They do already have a sharia-law quasi-nation Kosovo in the center of Europe generating arms, drug, slave and jihadist fraffic as a result of previous democrat war.
Of course you are. Because we all know that us conservative and libertarian types would be lining up behind Barry’s Marxist agenda if only he were white like us.
This is an epic fail that pretty much destroys NATO’s reputation. Paper tiger.
Obama looks reckless, thoughtless and stupid for getting us involved in this.
He also looks absolutely callous - to throw American blood and treasure into something like this without any apparent thought or reflection on a plan.
What does he care, it isn’t his family’s blood or treasure. Our soldiers and our resources are disposable pawns for the interests and whims of other countries.
Outrageous!!
The Nobel committee must be proud.
This is making the peanut farmer look competent!
Crowning achievement - the breakup of NATO - for someone with no executive experience, he sure has created quite a resume in two years./s
And to think of the reception he got in Germany on his first trip...the “world healer.” How could so many in so many places have been so fooled? I know I wasn’t. Nor was anyone here. Such idiots. We won’t last until 2012, we need him to resign or impeached.
ping on that - thanks for the history lesson (that oddly never made it into the textooks/s)
Can you imagine if the manager of a 7-11 decided, without checking with the home office, to suddenly stop carrying Pepsi? (We know he loves Coke ;)
He would be fired. On the spot.
Obama orders us to war without checking with Congress. And he’s not only still president, he’s still on vacation.
Like the scene from the Titanic - “I’m King of the Wooorld!!!” That’s how he sees himself...sadly, we are still stuck on board. Anyone who rationailzed it would only be for four years with this utter incompetent needs to have their head examined. We can’t take the rest of the term with this clown.
Has this been confirmed by a source other than the Daily Mail?
I’ve never really thought he wouldn’t be re-elected.
Now, I am starting to think his making basketball picks and then going on vacation while so much was going on, with our allies and our own people, may be his undoing. It’s the kind of thing that gets people on the emotional level where his entire campaign succeeded.
Those who live by emotional blackmail will (electorally) die by emotional blackmail.
You got that right.
A tagline in the making.
“GW, I miss you, you were an AWESOME President!”
I agree with you. GW was awesome on national security issues.
Obama picked them to go into the Final Four.
Europe: I guess it’s better to have the plan before starting the operation. Doh. Gotta remember that.
nobama: Now... how can I make this worse for America without having to think...
I supported a NATO Nuclear Planning Group conference in Florida many years ago. The main focus was getting other NATO members to permit basing Ground Launched Cruise Missiles (GLCM) in their Countries. It made herding chickens look like childs play. Al Haig, was 45th on protocol list.
Exactly, except this POTUS is doing some great patch work on Carters foreign policy legacy just by being in the Oval Office.
King Merde.
