It turns out that Sen. Claire McCaskill owes nearly $300,000 in county personal property taxes on the family’s private plane that has plunged her into political hot water over the past two weeks.
In a conference call with reporters, the Missouri Democrat said that she intends to pay the back taxes to St. Louis County immediately. She said that under Missouri law, plane owners are required to pay the taxes to the county where they house the aircraft, of which she was unaware.

The taxes were for a five-year period. Methinks I smell a “Damn! I thought I couldget away with it!” attitude. Anyway, something stinks.

This SHOULD be her demise. However, the pubs will most likely let it slide and fail to remind the voters that she used taxpayer funds to pay for HER plane trips on HER own plane that she failed for FIVE years to pay taxes on!! She makes little Timmy Geithner look like a piker in comparison, and this was a LOCAL tax, not even a fed tax! She was directly screwing her own constituents!!
Oh yeah, property taxes. Just when you think you own something, the government comes along and reminds you that they really own everything and they are only allowing you to rent it out of the goodness of their hearts.
Property “ownership” is nothing but a cruel joke in the USSA.
The American people want to be slaves to government.
Old style influence peddling Dem. Marries nursing home millinaire she helps politically. The get faked loan papers that get her charged with loan fraud but gets off with a wink.
She has Congress pay for big trips to help fund he husbands millioaire toy but gets caught because the trips were campaign oriented and has to quickly pay back huge amounts. Realizes the focus on the plane will reveal they didn’t pay Personal Property taxes for four years and quickly poops out a third of a million claiming it an oversight.
Typical Missouri Democrat.
