Upon Governor Palins arrival Israelis will be celebrating the festivities of Purim.
Purim is the day Jews celebrate the story of Esther. Its a very festive day. Kids dress up and food gifts are distributed to family and friends. People are very joyous and its common to see lots of singing and dancing in the streets. Its customary to drink lots of wine on Purim. It is also a day of giving a lot of money to charity.
Everywhere in the world, including most of Israel, Purim began at sundown on Saturday night and ends after sundown on Sunday night.
In Jerusalem however, Purim takes place one day later and begins at sundown Sunday and ends after sundown Monday.
Governor Palin will join Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for dinner in Jerusalem on Monday evening; The Purim dinner!

I didn’t read too many of the Sarah threads so I wasn’t too familiar with the disagreement between pissant and the others.

Pissant Derangement Syndrome.
Id say over 2/3 of the posts in this thread are about him.
It is actually PTPS. Post-tramatic pissant syndrome. In a while people will forget about pissant. They may start zeroing in on posters like you. Posters who have nothing new to offer, but are great at creating dissension in the conservative ranks. Those posters who offer nothing to forward the conservative cause. The posters who are Free Republics 5th column. Think about it.

WOW. You said it much better than I did.
The reality of Palin is that she governs more moderately than folks have projected on to her. She will respect the law over an ideological issue, and believes that fighting corruption and cutting spending are her two highest priorities though energy independence is a very close third.
Worth repeating (plus everything else you said). Excellent and timely post.

I'm not so sure it was an issue of disagreement. He went off the deep end and finally did himself in. I think Admin was extremely patient. It reached a point where you could not even have a thread discussion or post without him and his posse. It was disruptive. There was no longer a free exchange of ideas (based in fact) on the Palin threads. I can understand the need for "spirited" discussions here without threat of being banned. This was something much more insidious. I think it effectively smothered a free exchange of ideas and that was the intent.
It was very ugly and that is why many are still referencing it. With time I don't think you will hear "pissants" name mentioned. People will get over it.

Well, that’s kind of harsh...”nothing new to offer” and fairly absurd since you are judging my “worthiness to the conservative cause” off of one post on an anonymous message board. Honestly, I’d rather talk about elections. I was just surprised that people let themselves get so worked up over someone. The best thing they could have ever done is ignored him. It’s the easiest way to make someone go away. If his threads would have gotten zero replies, he would have stopped posting them. Think about it.

You need to get out less and FReep more. ;-)Try India Today!
Thanks, grey_whiskers and jennings2004!
I see references to Sarah being in India (and now heading to Israel) on FR, but not on the television media, suprisingly not even on FNC.
I hope Sean Hannity and/or Greta have some coverage of Sarah's overseas trips... I'm really interested to learn more about them.

LOL - It's a DECEPTIVE headline and you know it. Read the thread first, then post.
This is the fifth post on this topic, and just as inane.
The title of the article is the title of the article.
I think its a hoot, because it reports a deeper fact just as I stated. As the quoted text makes it perfectly clear what is up and includes a bit of Purim trivia that I honestly had never known before about Purim being celebrated one day later in Walled Cities. The article has news value just as it is. It links the holiday and Sarah Palin's visit very nicely. The only possible objection is from folks who insist on reading the headline only then shutting down their brain and getting their knees ready to jerk.
You seem to get the joke, so what is your beef? I should have re-written the Title? Added a Barf? (no way) I mean really. So what is left is just insane finickiness, get over it and have some fun.

Its the easiest way to make someone go away. If his threads would have gotten zero replies, he would have stopped posting them. Think about it.It seems pretty absurd that you would offer suggestions on how to deal with someone like Pissant without stopping to wonder why three days later we are still mourning his loss, in spite of the fact that others I am sure, but I personally had completely had my fill of his antics and was considering leaving FR rather than be forced to cope with the issue any further.
If it was only his threads which were drawn from the most putrid anti-Palin, DU feverswamp, clap-trap, distortion sources, that would be one thing, but the guy also dove into other threads and spewed his poison there too. He ended up making the most vile comments and after being provisionally banned, and being warned, begged, and lectured, he ended up gone. In the process, his name and his point of view became both a joke and frankly, his end took the fuse that anyone who would defend his behavior or mimic it and burnt that to a nub.
Because of this, if you say things that remind folks of him (that you are a candidate to replace him), expect to get whacked.
As for proposing the George Bush defense of ignore folks who tell lies and hate you and they will go away. You remember how well that worked for him. It is the advice of RINO's and the Conservative Elites who want to go along to get along with the MSM. And, a load of crap.
Folks who know the situation know that the FR management did everything possible to keep him and way beyond because his work had merit, but he truly had become deranged and was damaging FR.
Think about it.

Please... We're all just getting the moron out of our systems. He was a blight - a boil that incessantly irritated, and which badly needed lancing. What you're reading is a collective sigh of relief.
Well put, dittos, and thanks.

I love the Maccabeats! Their Purim song is as good as their Hanukkah one. What a wonderful way to spread the message.

It is a lesson for all of us to not let passion become hatred of our own. Pissant literally let the best and the perfect become the enemy of the good and it took him from us who were his friends and wished he could have found a way back to sanity.Pissant's anti-McCain stance became a war on Sarah Palin when she supported him in his bid for re-election. That's when he seemed to change. The dirt he was playing in became a bigtime mud pit but he was never a DU or HuffPo person.

The dirt he was playing in became a bigtime mud pit but he was never a DU or HuffPo person. I agree. This may have been when he ran off of the rails, I just don't recall that clearly. I know I started being shocked by his behavior and over the top passion for DeVore when it was clear he didn't have a chance but was making it likely that the super-RINO might win the CA Republican nomination. In this, he was among a larger crowd who stayed engaged, angry at the party for DeVore's loss. California as a state entered the Twilight Zone with the election of Jerry Brown, who confessed on national TV to have lied to get elected the first time and stated flatly he was completely clueless during his time in the governor's office. Yet, California elected him again. OMG.
