If we can get more Tea Party reps elected in 2012 and change leadership we have a chance. The force is strong in Rand!
Presto! Instant balanced budget, and there isn't a damn thing Obama can do about it. Of course, that would mean instantly cutting 40% of government spending, which is now IMPOSSIBLE to do without draconian cuts across the board, including social entitlement programs. That's what we need in order to survive as a nation, but they won't do it.
Just watch - in a couple weeks (when we hit the debt ceiling again), the Republicans will vote to let Geitner continue to borrow more of Bernanke's increasingly worthless fiat currency, and we'll see yet more inflation in food and energy.
“The force is strong in Rand!”
Also in Michelle Bachmann who came up with $450 billion in cuts. Only $50 billion less than Rand Paul. The GOP leadership has no intention of trying push through anything of substance. For one thing they don’t have control of the Senate so no matter what they pass in the House its going to get knocked down in the Senate. At least until the 2012 elections.
So the only real ammunition the GOP has is to refuse to vote to raise the debt ceiling. That would keep it from happening and the Dems would have to scramble to make huge cuts to pay the interest on the T Bills every month. It would work beautifully but the GOP in my opinion will not do it. They won’t do it because they want to get the credit for being the ones who say what gets cut.
