Exactly. Maybe he’ll get around to meeting with his military advisers when he gets back from Rio. I guess he might need about 90 days to study all the implications.
So you want to see Libyan men & women rebels executed in the streets by Quadaffi. I see.
I agree!
Ex-squid myself, I think smashing the Somali pirates would be a much better exercise! Let the UK, France and Italy (and Germany, unless they fear being called NAZIS) take care of Libya.
Draft states “all necessary means” could be used to prevent the “slaughter of civilians,”
Perhaps some clerk somewhere will make a slight targeting miscalculation and they'll nail a certain hotel in Rio by mistake.
Odds are very likely that you are right. I have a bad feeling about this whole thing. I've already posted this but if we're serious shouldn't we just pound hell out of wherever Gadaffy is holed up? Isn't he the real point of the whole exercise?
I bet they would execute our folks in a heatbeat. Oh, please. Now we have just made it worse for them.
Grow up.
I wonder if this will bring Chavez into the War
And if he survives in power, they will get the oil contracts.
FR doesn't need to be associated with people calling for the death of the POTUS.
Why? Are we not sufficiently "rallied" around him for the other conflicts we are in already? How much more "rallying" do we need?
No thanks. My gut tells me this is not our fight and that there are no good guys here. Do we even have the slightest confidence at all that the rebels are any better than Gaddafi? I thought I've read that Al-Queda is also supporting the rebels so aren't we now effectively on the same side with our mortal enemy?
Also, other than maybe Britain, I seriously doubt all our allies combined have the capacity to set up a real no fly zone over Libya. My hunch is the US will have to do 90% of the work here, and for a questionable cause.
I never mentioned the POTUS. I was thinking about all the terrorists that hang out down there for Carnival.
My hunch is Obama was just bluffing and didn't really want to take military action. In fact, that's why he went to the UN. He assumed he would have been able to say "well, I tried folks. But the international community just was not as cooperative as they should be."
They just gave him what he was only bluffing that he wanted.
