What can be done now?

1. Brings in sheets of lead (lead walls) for workers to work behind.

2. Bring in robots to do some of the work.

3. Bring in generators so that water pumps can be operated. Make sure they can get wet and still operate.

4. Bring in fire hoses and cameras to that any exposed rods can be constantly sprayed with water.

5. Bring in special suits (like space suits) to shield workers from radiation.

6. Have Plans A, B, C, D, and E ready to Rock 'n Roll.

What happened with Apollo 13 was that NASA focused on the problem and came up solutions in a very timely fashion.

Consider the possibility of bringing in fire boats to use their monitors to knock the panels off of the tops of the buildings, and then fill them totally full of sea water.

(I understand that NYC's fire boats have so much monitor water jet power that they can actually slice away heavy pilings and drop entire burning wharves into the water...)
