CNN international station is still live, thankfully.
“...the Japanese felt a need to ask for help in the news from us and not just picked up a phone.”
Yup, there is something in the background that we don’t know about, your comments are appropriate and sadly probably right.
Reporting there have been a total 464 aftershocks to date.
They think he is your problem, and right now they have enough of their own to worry about. Which is not to say they are not grateful for the assistance they are getting from America — it’s just that they know it is “in spite of” not “because of” Obama.
No way, not this Texas gal! I merely looked it up on Algore’s world wide web.
What was it Hillary Clinton said recently about the Libya, "The US will wait for the rest of the world to act"? Paraphrasing ...

*shakes head* 6 nuclear reactors with 6 different catastrophic problems.
What a chain of events. ;(
Obama needs to call a Sievert Summit
“And the benefit of blowing the facility...”
I did say it was a “crazy” prediction. I don’t know how much contamination a small one would put out compared to letting the plant cook off for several weeks.
It all depends on wind direction. An all-in-one blast that takes it all out and then blows out to sea might be preferable to letting the plant sit there and spew clouds of contamination towards Tokyo. If the wind direction is going to start favoring a drift towards Tokyo, desperation may drive their leaders to consider measures that would seem unbelievable.
They will do whatever is in the best interest of their people, even if it shocks the world.
Sorta like throwing a gallon of gas on a bonfire.
ANY explosion is going to throw all that radioactive material high in the air where the winds can get it and raise the rad level exponentially. The nuke material is at least mostly contained right now. if it explodes ... Or fire now I think on it. Fire is another vector for the radiation to escape. Fire is a bad thing in this circumstance.
Starting to see weird problems with web computers.
Obama has the phone in his ear, a deer in the headlights look in his eyes, and he is not talking. My guess. This is just a little above his pay grade.

Everything is obviously above his pay grade unless it is lecturing us on something trivial like gender equality or “fat kids”.
There are probably more murders in the inner cities in one week than all the “fat kids” in a life time. Yet, not one freaking word about that. He has strange priorities and is way out of touch with reality.
If you are going to use nukes as a last resort, I would suggest possibly taking some nuc subs and start firing at the base of the cliff that the nuke plant sits on. If the cliff area is steep enough, have no idea, you could landslide the entire plant down into the Pacific. Of course you are just trading one set of problems for another, but you might buy some time. The above of course assumes conditions near the plant are absolutely unworkable.
