I WAS being simplistic in my calculations. I know that prices across the board are up and in each step of the process. It all adds up.

I agree. I think the admin is trying to get food prices so far out of the realm that most people cannot buy any without a subsidy of food stamps, etc. that can be turned off at discretion. I also believe the “Food Safety Modernization Act” will have something ugly in store for those who try and be self reliant also, but that remains to be seen.
