Pretty soon, Obama going to have to increase the transfer payments to the Democrat voting blocks or he might actually lose a few of them.

“The three big things [causing increases] are energy prices, the growth of the Chinese and India market, and bad weather,” said economist Martin Kohli, of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, referring to poor wheat-crop production in Russia and Australia.”

Uh, no. This is an apologist for the administration.

Number one is rising inflation, due to Obama’s destruction of the dollar.

Number two is rising gas prices, adding increased transportation cost to everything across the board.

Number three is the fact we are burning our corn for fuel, rather than eating it. This is driving up corn, which is a staple in things people never realize (corn syrup, etc.)

Also the increased regulations across the board, like the idiotic EPA saying spilled milk has to be treated legally like an oil spill.

The droughts and floods and increased use by China and India are not helping, but number one is INFLATION.

When Obama came to power, I told everyone I knew, by the time he leaves office, inflation will be off the charts. It’s classic Democratic legacy. It’s what happens when you punish your producers.

Grocery price increases across the nation???

Wait until you see the effects of HR2748/S.510/HR2751 FDA Food Takeover Bill passed in the Lame Duck Session. Passed the Senate with a “voice vote”, they did not want to be identified as voting for this mess. It was read into an unrelated bill (HR2751) when it went back to the House and then that passed the Senate again.

Cost of this? 1.4 billion dollars with 17,000 new “food inspectors” (most foreign based), paid for by “fees” on producers. Those fees will simply be passed on to consumers. Sold on the pretence of food safety against terrorist attacks.

Just wait....

Let me tell you something, when it comes down to soda, ice cream and cake vs. meat, I'll have meat!

“I feel like I am getting fleeced and taken advantage of.

Fleeced by whom? Every time gas prices go up --- it must be due to the gouging by the oil companies. There is a financial crisis --- it must be due to the gouging by and the "greed" of Wall Street executives. Food prices are going up --- someone must be fleecing and gouging again.

With voters like this, who no longer know how the country works, is it any wonder that commies are taking over?

I’ll lay 10-to-1 odds this Carol Sumner of Bronx, New York voted for the very same corrupt empty-headed socialists who are causing our inflation problem.

"The price index for groceries is expected to surge 3 to 4 percent nationally this year, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture."

I figure 20% just like last year.

Track the price of SPAM, Eggs, Onions, Potatoes and US Apples if you want to know what the price of food is doing.

Recently I've been doing the grocery shopping for the family as the wife is recuperating from an operation. I am amazed with just how much junk the average American throws into their grocery carts. No wonder they are complaining about the prices, just about everything they buy is "heat-and-eat" processed crap. Doesn't anybody cook from raw ingredients anymore?

About 80% of my shopping is done around the perimeter of the store and I can tell you exactly the order that the items hit my cart as I travel around the perimeter:

That gets me to the front of the store and from there it's just a couple of trips into the aisles to get a few canned goods and oatmeal. No frozen ready-to-eat entrees, no chips, no cookies, no processed cereals and other junk like that. Almost always under $100 to feed family of four for at least a week.

I do get one thing in the frozen section and that is frozen blueberries and blackberries. They taste great when swirled into plain vanilla yogurt, much cheaper than fresh and don't have to worry about spoilage.

***...D’Agostino Market***

No wonder Charles Bronson wasted two punks on a subway who wanted what he had! D’Agistino must be a high, high dollar store!

Then he left his goods behind as he got off the subway!
