Bill Clinton thinks drilling delays 'ridiculous'
American Thinker ^ | March 12, 2011 | Rick Moran

There is a difference between an ideologue like Obama and a practical politician like Bill Clinton.

Without criticizing Obama directly, Bill Clinton, sitting on a panel at an energy conference, agreed with many of the points made by former President George Bush about oil and gas drilling, including the idea that it was stupid to prevent drilling for oil and gas at a time of economic rebuilding.

Politico:

But according to multiple people in the room, Clinton, surprisingly, agreed with Bush on many oil and gas issues, including criticism of delays in permitting offshore since last year's Gulf of Mexico spill.
"Bush said all the things you'd expect him to say" on oil and gas issues, said Jim Noe, senior vice president at Hercules Offshore and executive director of the pro-drilling Shallow Water Energy Security Coalition. But Clinton added, "You'd be surprised to know that I agree with all that," according to Noe and others in the room.

Clinton said there are "ridiculous delays in permitting when our economy doesn't need it," according to Noe and others.

"That was the most surprising thing they said," Noe said.

The two former presidents both generally agreed on the need to get offshore drilling workers back on the job.

Clinton and Bush also agreed on the need for more domestic shale gas production, with Clinton noting that it has been done safely for years in his home state of Arkansas.

Clinton is a lot of things, but a stupid politician he is not. The problem when you have a president who believes in greening our energy supplies instead of increasing them comes into focus when practical politicians like Clinton and Bush comment on our current, inexplicable policy.

I thought Politico was a rat house organ. Maybe they have a little common sense and don't want to see the rats decimated for a decade or two.

Since Obama is either a puppet or a fellow traveler of the enviro lobby, the high price of gas is exactly what they want. They’re rubbing their hands in pure joy as they watch gas price move toward $5/gallon - and they want it to stay there. For them this is even better than cap-n-tax!

Their other fellow traveler, the media, is of course in full cooperation mode.

Wonder how Obama will like getting Cloward and Piven’ed.

Clinton would not have done this except most democrats realize Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. You can back a democrat who’s smart and failing, but not an idiot who can’t tie his f*****g shoes without a teleprompter.

Funny how even old Bill Clinton doesn’t seem that bad to us anymore, since Zero that is!

That is a sad tale for her. She was 22 years old. Now, she’s almost 40, still isn’t married, and doesn’t have children. According to a report I heard on a local radio show, she’s still in love with him, and is convinced he was in love with her.

What a waste of a young life...

As he said during the campaign, under his policies, electricity would “necessarily skyrocket.” I don’t see why he might feel differently about oil prices. After all, oil is the devil. He just doesn’t want oil prices to rise so fast.

Isn’t that the truth? I never thought I would long for the days of his kind of democrat.

Even Hillary! is looking better...

Hill and Bill are appearing more moderate next to Obama because Obama is NOT your typical Democrat by any stretch of the imagination. He will go down as the first or second worst President in history. Carter might get second place because he was American, served his country in the military and the time that has gone by with his Presidency. Obama is just plain horrible. I doubt that Clinton would make the top 10 worst Presidents. He will never be in the top 10 Presidents either. I think he will be stuck in the middle somewhere that is insignificant.

And at Ted Kennedy’s wake(?) a while back, friends laughingly recalled the time N.Y. Daily News photographers caught the morbidly obese Massachusetts-ian porking a woman on a boat on the Riviera. Republicans saw the photos and thought maybe he’d changed his position on offshore drilling.

According to a report I heard on a local radio show, she’s still in love with him, and is convinced he was in love with her.

She was soft in the body; now I see she is soft in the head. Bill is in love only with himself.

It's not unusual for young adults to do a few regrettable or foolish things, especially in matters of love (or lust). But, to not get over them after 20 years IS unusual, and sad.

When the bent one was President, I would watch his speeches even though I knew he was lying, I marveled at his technique.

I can't watch or listen to osamaobama, it's hard for me to even read his crap.

Bill Clinton is a liar. He banned drilling himself.

PRESIDENT EXTENDS AN OIL DRILLING BAN ALONG COASTLINES: President Clinton announced today a 10-year extension of the moratorium on oil drilling off virtually all United States ocean coastlines.
