Uh, maybe not. Rape in Texas can be a capital crime. These guys could all be executed.
It’s possible, but nowhere near as common as it could be. In a society that knows less and less about souls, killing or maiming a human soul seems less important than doing it to a human body, or sometimes even to an animal.
