At this point it doesn’t matter. Even if it’s contained and resolved without issue. This is going to set the Nuclear industry back at a time when we need to be building nuclear plants.

Don’t be so pessimistic. The original GE designers and engineers who made those MARK-n designs were very smart and very cautious. They really over-engineered. We shall all see that in in a situation at the extrema of worst-case (shot of a direct hit by a nuke bomb) the still fail-safe, nearly safe.

Yep, look at the damage enviros did with 3 mile Island and there wasn't even a leak, not one iota of radiation escaped but that was the death knell for Nukes in the states.
