“Anonymous angel helps stranger to live”
“Robert Finley said the death of his 3-year-old daughter left him feeling so desperate that he simply saw no way out.
It was while relaying these events to a friend who works at the Family Express on Burlington Beach Road that Finley’s angel came, unexpectedly, into his life.
‘My good friend Brian works there and he asked how my daughter was doing. I told him my daughter just passed away. A woman listened in on our conversation and left, and when I returned to the store a few days later, there was a package waiting for me,’ Finley said.
‘There was an anonymous letter that said, ‘I had not seen you before yesterday and likely will not see you again. But there was a reason why I was given a glimpse into your pain.
I thought about you all day and prayed for you and your family. I will pray you find peace,’ and she bought me a book called ‘Heaven is For Real,’ by Todd Burpo, about a little boy who goes to heaven and comes back,” he said.
Finley says he still doesn’t know who this woman was and his friend who works at Family Express says she’s not a regular customer.
‘I’d like to thank her because I was in a bad place and this book helped it to go away. I hated everything, wanted an answer and wasn’t getting it and hated God for doing this to me. ...
But I got that book and I’m actually reading it for the third time and I don’t even read much. ... Without that book, I don’t know if I’d be here today. I was that far down,’ he said.”
(There’s a sentence that seems to praise obamacare, but I didn’t pay attention to that.)
