Good question. Perhaps she thinks it's a "get out of jail free card" for someone who advocates the death of the helpless.
Donations to FR have never mattered if someone steps out of line. I’ll never understand why people think the Boss or the Mods care. I certainly don’t. Money doesn’t make anyone right or wrong.
Paying a hospital in the U.S. to willingly provide necessary care to prevent a baby legally brought into the country from being killed is not the same as forcing unwilling hospitals to provide unnecessary medical care to illegal aliens for free. Anyone with an IQ above the imaginary threshold set by the euthanazis should understand that. If your IQ is too low to understand it, you should submit yourself to the treatment you demand for anyone else with such a low IQ.
Anti-FReeper sites are littered with the carcasses of former trolls who cannot believe their donations didn’t insulate them from the zot. They can be bought so cheaply, when faced with the reality that JR cannot, this does not compute.
Right now, you are encouraging torture.
BREAKING: Baby Joseph is home: defies critics by breathing completely on his own
I don't make it a habit to revisit old worn out threads, but some things are just too damn important to leave uncorrected:
BREAKING: Baby Joseph is home: defies critics by breathing completely on his own
This child cannot be declared dead until they remove him from the ventilator. He would then stop breathing. You can keep a dead person alive on a ventilator. Take for instance organ donors. They are dead, but on a ventilator until donation surgery. So there is no death certificate yet.
He has been removed from the ventilator. He is not "dead": BREAKING: Baby Joseph is home: defies critics by breathing completely on his own
Heh..>I was about to do the same!! Thanks for slapping reality into Kaila and other anti-life Freepers!
I don't believe this was my quote, however I will answer your ping. I assume you are correcting my understanding that baby Joseph would shortly die with or without a trache. Yes, the accepted medical conclusion (including by the parents, as they fought the removal of the ET tube on that basis) was that he would not breathe on his own. The conclusion was wrong, including my acceptance of it. I am happy for the family that I was wrong.
The discussion was on a few issues, and different posters had different takes:
I am happy for the family and the baby that he gets to go home breathing on his own. However, this does not particularly strengthen the argument that a tracheostomy was necessary - if he could be weaned from a trache, could he have been weaned from an ET tube? (As I recall, I proposed he be sent home with the ET tube.)
Note that the thread title you linked implies that posters were criticizing baby Joseph - I recall no such criticism of the baby. Some of the parents demanding the procedure perhaps, and many questions, but none of the baby.
No, I was not criticizing you. The other poster I pinged was posting some very insulting and grossly erroneous statements on this and other threads. I just remembered exchanging some thoughts with you and desired to bring this development to your attention. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
