Mired? Gaddafy hangs by a thread now. Removing him is so easy, even a Frenchman could do it.
I really hope we’re not sending our overqualified Marines to take that crazy cat off the telephone pole.

bwahahahahaha!!!

Can’t wait for they hypocritical silence or comical legitimzing of this action by the democrats and MSM.

Hey liberals!!! Where is the congressional vote to approve this??? You were all screaming that Iraq and Afganistan were “illegal” wars. No blood for oil! Libya is a quagmire! Does this mean your going to demand war crime trials for Obama, Biden, and Clinton?

Oh wait. It will be justified because your going to claim its a “humanitarian peace keeping mission”, not a actual war action. What a joke.

This is all about oil.

If this was happening further down in Africa, Zero would be doing nothing.

You tell a story in the true Hunter S. Thompson style.

The only thing missing was some ill-tempered local police, narcotics of random and plentiful quantities, and skipping out on the bill.

As much as I do not like seeing U. S. Citizens in harms way, you haven’t see DoughtyOne spending his days in Libya. I wouldn’t want to put myself in a position that would cause the U. S. government to have to bail my bacon out of the fire.

Not one of our troops should have to lose their lives because our citizens couldn’t muster up a lick of common sense.

There are times when you get caught in a situation that wasn’t foreseeable. This isn’t one of them.

Spending time in Libya could be dangerous to your health? Who knew?

Our standards are higher than Fox’s. If you’re pulling civilians out of a war zone Marines are how you do it, like Operation Silver Wake in Albania. We knew days ago the U.S. was moving assets closer to Libya. Fox is getting more and more ‘E!’ journalistic. They make every Charlie Sheen sighting breaking news.

But now you have 50 FReepers who didn’t read the whole article all lathered up because they think the White House has announced that the Marines are going in to secure Tripoli (again).

at least our generation was paying attention. I sincerely doubt that the current administration could name the wars and the years they happened. I can.

And as for the past and catching up.... we were not in the same position of weakness that we are today. Plus we were isolationist. There is a big difference. Today’s failure is one of deliberate hatred of America and those, mostly men, who died for our freedom.

Yes I agree we need our troops in our inner cities and on the border. We are not safe in our own country who gives a rat’s ass about Libya.

IMO, it’s not about oil at all.

It’s about Obama wanting to be seen as presidential prior to November 2012. Further, it’s about him wanting to show people he’s not a friend to every Muslim leader. As if...

Obama doessn’t know what the hell to do, but he’s going to do something, so the people who voted for him won’t realize it.

Sounds like the Kearsarge MEU, likely doing a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO). Until a CV shows up, there won't be any no-fly zone. The embassy should have the names of US and friendly foreign nationals, but with Hillary as the Secretary of State and this late start to the op, who knows.

If your Marine is embarked, they have practiced this and have the experience to get it done. If it turns to crap, they have the ability to work that out as well.

THAT is too burlesque for words!

BUT given the Liberal capacity for hyperventilating, self-inebriation and clinical hysteria.... maybe!!!
