Me too. Sheesh, it's been retired from the Navy now what, nearly 5 years? Yet another example of a so-called journalist that can't be bothered to check his/her facts.
From the article: Still, the Enterprise - with its compliment of F-14 Tomcat fighters - is not the best candidate for a humanitarian aid mission.
Guess it is a good thing She doesn't have any on board then! :-) The big-E's mission isn't to perform the humanitarian aid mission - it is to protect those that do.

*** Still, the Enterprise - with its compliment of F-14 Tomcat fighters ... Bwahahaha. Bone dead STUPID! *** You caught that too, what a bunch of maroons.
An easy search would have shown them this:
In the 1970s, Enterprise was refitted to handle F-14 Tomcats,
which operated from the ship from 1974 to 2001.
Maybe they had a deadline to meet ;-)

Iran still uses the F-14...we should check to make sure those F-14s piggybacking on the Enterprise weren’t snuck on board by the Iranians.
