Maybe not. Maybe the cops have been told to coax, not force them out. That may be an order from the top. Walker is still in good position. No need to let the media paint him as a bully. Letting them stay looks benevolent and paternal, like a dad waiting patiently for his misfit children to come to their senses, chill, and drop the tantrum.

I’m not prepared to assume the cops are out of order because I can see a lot of political advantage in letting the thugs and protesters unwind themselves rather than make them get their backs up and have a riot. The cops (whom I have no love for) may have been directed to tread softly.
