Public health officials are scrambling to reach airline passengers and staff who may have had contact with a woman infected with measles who passed through as many as five U.S. airports last week.
The New Mexico woman was on a transatlantic flight from London to Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 20. Over the next few days, she's believed to have passed through airports in Baltimore, Denver, Albuquerque and San Diego.
New Mexico authorities refused to identify the woman, but described her as a 27-year-old who had never been vaccinated for measles as a child. Her symptoms were apparent on her flights and she was diagnosed once she arrived home in New Mexico, they said.
Most Americans are immune to measles, either because they've been vaccinated against it or are old enough to have survived it as children, before immunization shots became widespread practice. Infants who haven't yet been vaccinated are at high risk of contracting the virus, as are others with weakened immune systems.

Because the carriers of infectious diseases are a protected minority. Any restrictions placed on them and they’ll show up at the FAA main hdqtrs. with the Justice Bros.
If someone wanted to test how a virulently contagious disease spreads as the CDC and news keeps track of it, this is what one would do.
The next step would be putting a virulently infected group of people with something deadly on several planes and watch the spread.
And now you know how easy it will be to spread a Biological WMD.
It’s a good thing most of the populace is apathetic or clueless. Good for those who would do such a thing that is.
Wait until it’s small pox...if Ebola ever got loose like that, man it would be bad.
What the heck kind of intinerary is that? Was she on vacation? A business person? A terrorist? And where was she staying between stints at an airport? In private homes? Hotels? Did she use any other forms of mass transpo?
They don’t mention the danger to the fetus of non-immune women in their first trimester of pregnancy. That is criminal.
She was never vaccinated, and now we see the destruction and expense she is causing. She may cause the deaths of some people. And yet there are those who argue that children shouldn’t be vaccinated.
An illegal?

I’m thinking she may not be a US citizen since few of us ever made it through childhood without that vaccine?
Vaccines are part of the Government's (Obama) plan to cause all our children to get Autism and become mindless slaves.
Are you suggesting we had screening for diseases as part of the airport security process?
No one appearing ill should have gotten on a plane. What are those gate employees for?
Remember that most of you adults have no immunity to measles any more. Vaccines do not “last” forever. Some children who received the MMR vaccines contract measles still while kids anyway. Vaccines do not necessarily provide immunity, and if they do, it’s not for many years.
They take your ticket prior to boarding the aircraft. They are not trained, nor do they have the tools to do an adequate medical evaluation of those boarding aircraft.
If you want to go down this path, who would you prevent from boarding? Should passengers be checked for fevers? Should someone who sneezes be prevented from boarding?
