Where is that rule written? That just because someone accuses you, that you need to act guilty by running away?

Yes, but if someone is accused of a crime, that’s usually enough to make them step aside until the charges are proven/disproved thereby demonstrating to the public that they “take the charges seriously”.

In larger organizations, they suspend people who are accused of crimes and in many cases actually terminate them before the case even goes to trial if the charges are severe enough (example: teachers accused of something really bad)
