S.C. Political briefs
Gun-rights activists applauded a vote Thursday that would allow S.C. citizens to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
The measure, which applies to any resident at least 21 years old who legally can own a gun, has bipartisan support. A House panel voted unanimously to advance the amended bill to the full Judiciary Committee.
You cant prevent a criminal from having a gun, said Byron Chafin of rural Batesburg. A law-abiding citizen should have the right to protect themselves anywhere they go....

DOUBLE OUTSTANDING!!!
Hoping that NC will follow soon...
Georgia already has a pretty good carry open/concealed law now. It does need a bit more tweaking IE carry in church is banned and at large public gatherings (large undefined but has been understood as 5000+. Once they are changed and maybe a few other points we will be much closer to our nations foundation and a bit more safe...
A step in the right direction (for once) Unfortunately SC still absolutely forbids the possession of fully automatic weapons by its citizens.
And with voter ID too.
My thought exactly. Now Texas needs to get this done!

If they pass Constitutional Carry, you won’t need reciprocity because you will not need a permit to carry concealed.
My wife and I both have CCW for Pennsylvania. My son lives in S.Carolina. When we visit, we can’t carry in the state . Kind of stupid as a criminal doesn’t give a $hit about carry laws .
I agree, two of my relatives live on the other side of SC state lines but to get to them I have to go through SC.

Groovy. I love hearing good stories about RKBA. They give me hope... :-)
I would agree to have a right to carry concealed without a license here in SC and then pay a fee to carry a reciprical license. They could issue a special cccw that other states would abide by for a fee. My husband has a ccw here but I have always said I didn’t wouldn’t get one however, if this passes, I’m carrying concealed. Hubby was more concerned about reciprocity for travel.
>>Great now they need to improve the reciprocity part of the laws.
THANK YOU! Worth saying again.
I’m in adjacent GA, and we don’t have reciprocity. Absurd.
is there a bill on the books by that name-?! Please advise-!!
