Watch the video. The ATF flooded Mexican drug runners with firearms to try and gather “intelligence.” The program backfired.
I think it pertains to the AZ ATF knowingly letting some firearms go into Mexico and one of them killed the last Border Patrol officer at least that’s my understanding. You might want Bing it.

You would be correct.
The short version is that a law abiding gun dealer was suspicious of a potential sale. The dealer contacts the proper federal authorities. The federal authorities insist that he sell the weapons. One of the weapons is used to kill a border patrol agent. The BATF lies about letting weapons go to Mexico. BATF agents tell CBS news but under conditions of anonymity. Media then buries the story.
