Quadaffi, like many other arab leaders (Saddam, Nassir,etc) , often use the religion card when it suits their political ends. Remember, even Saddam Hussein whipped up the Sunni muslims in Iraq against America. But by and large, the fundamentalist Islamists hate Quadaffi as much as they hate America, maybe even more.
