No luck on the job in Arlington?

No there was not.

I thought the interviews went well, one of the interviewers introduced me to the next one as "the font of all knowledge". But that was Wednsday. On Friday morning, very early, they called and said there was "not a good match, at this time".

It was so early that the only reason I was even awake was that I'd gotten a 6 AM wake up call to tell me that our great nieces, the ones who lived with us for 4 years, were being evacuated to higher ground after the tsunami warning sirens went off.

They live on the Oregon coast, in Brookings, just north of Cresent City, CA, where the damage ended up being quite significent. Not that is was minor in Brookings, a few million in damages to the marina and boats docked there.

All the time they had those boats, and those in Santa Cruz and Crescent City should have been at sea. If they'd done that they'd have been fine.

I've applied to about a dozen jobs since then, haven't heard from any of them, but 5 were just earlier today, and one was late in the week. Still, the whole process is frustrating as hell.
