What was even stupider is that I did it a second time, this time during the day and heading for a different road. I had the tail of the car pointed at the garage when it was treated, so that I would not have to back through the smoke. I came back and a neighbor was standing there in the driveway with our garden hose in his hand and like... “where’s the fire? where’s the fire? I saw your garage full of smoke and thought it was on fire!” The car had filled the garage with smoke as I had beat a hasty exit. The neighbor wasn’t too amused even after I told him what had happened. Oh, this was the same neighbor whose chicken got loose and decided to roost in our garage one day, to the great curiosity of our cat. And whose goat got into another neighbor’s yard. But that really is a story for another day.
