It’s too bad the Governor can’t fire those cowardly bastards. Declare their seats open and start working on a Special Election.

Anyone find it a coincidence that all the dems bolted for Chicago?
I would love to see exactly were they are staying and whose footing the hotel bills/living expenses for what they are claiming could be weeks.

Can you believe this horsesh*t?

As a group of Wisconsin Democrats camp outside their state in hopes of stalling an anti-public union bill, veterans of such high-stake showdowns see numerous challenges ahead. The media coverage will be suffocating; the urge to cut a deal will be compelling; the lack of sex will be, well, unsettling. Seriously.

"If you are going to be out more than two weeks call your spouse for conjugal visits," explained Texas Democrat Leticia Van de Putte, who, back in 2003, was one of 11 state senators who fled to New Mexico in order to stall Republican redistricting plans. "After two weeks -- and most of my colleagues are men -- I said get their wives here and quick because you are under intense stress."

She's not joking. Among the many trying elements that come with a "quorum break," the disruption to a lawmaker's personal life ranks highest. In interviews with The Huffington Post, several legislators and a top staffer who went through the Texas saga called it, easily, the most exhausting of their careers.

What’s the downside? They obviously don’t believe in democracy. They want to run the legislature, even though they lost the last election.

would someone please explain to me - what is ‘collective bargaining’? And why the unions claim it is a civil right?

I should know this ... haha, but I don’t and googling it gives me results that just show it as a great thing.

thank you.
:)

Have all Christian churches open their doors and use their facilities for students. There are probably a lot of retired seniors as well as working moms and dads who would be willing to offer their services to teach "common sense" and Christian subjects that are far better than what they were being taught in public (state run) schools. WI could be the new beginning of what our Founding Fathers were taught. Maybe other states would follow their lead.

From the Wisconsin constitution.

Article IV, §7
Organization of legislature; quorum; compulsory attendance. Section 7. Each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members; and a majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may compel the attendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as each house may provide.

Article IV, §8
Rules; contempts; expulsion. Section 8. Each house may determine the rules of its own proceedings, punish for contempt and disorderly behavior, and with the concurrence of two-thirds of all the members elected, expel a member; but no member shall be expelled a second time for the same cause.

Looks to me like the Republicans are in the catbird seat. They have a majority and can change the rules. The quorum is stated in the constitution and therefore, unless amended, is a sole function of the house involved.

But I could be wrong. After all, the executive branch of the federal government is ignoring the rulings of the judicial branch.

If anyone needs a bus ride to tomorrow's Madison rally, sign up here.

If anyone is driving to Madistan, here's a map with parking garages.

And if you live in western Wis. and can't get to Madistan, Minnesota unionists will be gathering in Hudson for their own rally and the locals should meet them there.

You may show support for Gov. Walker's Budget Repair bill by signing this petition, set up by the WisGOP.

Patriots are meeting around 10am at the south steps of the capitol.

These pathetic DIMocRATs are disgusting. When they have the majority, they lock out opponents and won’t entertain discussion. When they get the minority, they run away so as to disrupt. Give these fools noi quarter at any level. No quarter to these destroyers of freedom and culture. No quarter.
