Exactly, Paul is far more of a LPer than a Conservative, Neo or otherwise, but why is he aligned with the R’s and not the D’s?

What benefit does he derive from sound money policy and an end to all foreign aid, not just to Israel?

Probably for pro-life and tax policy reasons.

He believes those policies more closely mirror the intent of the founders than the current over taxation and international adventurism we currently practice. Fiscal liberty and an avoidance of foreign entanglements are not necessary bad things.

He --- and his son --- ARE aligned with the Democrats, but they are tasked with disupting and splitting the Republicans in order to keep the Democrats in power. I don't know why this isn't crystal clear to more people. Apparently, the GOP are that dumb that they don't call the Pauls on their scheme.
