On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

Knew something was going on when she was not on air from here in US after returning to CONUS.
This rumor has been working for a few days, and was all but confirmed by the lack of comment or denials from anyone at Black Rock or West 57th.
Some may say Logan has a checkered past, but nothing deserves this!
When 3 CBS engineers were killed by a perp years ago, Rather went into a (well deserved) on-air outrage. This time, there will probably be nothing, because, Lord knows, we don’t want to upset the “Arab Street.” Source with many years in SWA says many Muslims will approve of this, because, it was an infidel getting what she deserved.

When Anderson Cooper was beaten the media tirelessly repeated that the perps were pro-Hosni. The absence of details indicates that you are probably correct in this case. Barry stoked violence when he rejected Hosni’s position of a peaceful transition. Barry embraces the Bill Ayers school of Mob Rule.
I rarely watch CBS News, but Logan seems like a straight shooter. CBS should never have put her in this position after the previous week’s Reporter beatings. It’s creepy that CBS has shrouded any facts about this assault. As usual, you can expect Katie to look the other way as well.
I agree. Yet, I really don’t believe anything a liberal reporter says until it is independently corroborated.
This woman is sleazy and I treat what she says with doubt.

Her background is very relevant when it comes to veracity of claims.
All we have at this point is her statement and no independent corroboration.
The CBS statement states she was separated from her crew and return to her hotel later alone.
If she hadn’t left, the muzzies may have stoned her to death.
Perhaps now the lamebrainmedia may understand that sending a woman to cover a muzzie event may be a very bad idea.
At least some women and soldiers came to her aid.

Is she stupid? Is she totally unaware of proper travel etiquette? Is she ignorant of strict dress codes in these savage countries? I refuse to say she was asking to get raped, but (from her photo) she was blatantly flirting with danger.
