I don't think that NPR needs public money when George Soros just gave them $1M IIRC. Seems he bought some influence for
his ideas with that, and another platform where AOL picked up Soros-sponsored Huffington Post to the tune of $1.5M.
Seems to me that NPR claims the public money is only about 20% of their operating budget; the rest comes from various foundations and big corporate grants.
