Despite calls from conservatives and a bipartisan committee to cut federal funding of Corporation for Public Broadcasting, President Obama's 2012 budget -- released Monday -- preserves the money that supports it.
Obama’s proposal includes $445 million in general programming grants for CPB in 2012, 2013 and 2014 -- up from $430 million in 2011.
The president’s plan comes as members of the House Appropriations Committee had in recent days renewed the push to defund to CPB -- and progressive groups, like MoveOn.org, and the Writers Guild of America mobilized to fight for PBS and NPR

Also, PBS/NPR failed to report every major story
involving Obama’s treason last month.

Something tells me this is going to be another bargaining chip. Obama has to show a lot of chutzpah for his base, and nothing will titillate them more than standing up for public broadcasting. By butting heads with the GOP on millions more dollars for this garbage, he knows that he can get billions of dollars of concessions out of them. The only antidote for this is for everyone in the GOP to grow a pair, ignore push polls and the bollocks, and refuse to spend any more money on these leeches.
The clown is a bullshit artist of the highest kind. We shall see how much and what gets cut once the Congress has done it’s work.
