Great!
Now if we Feds get the same treatment...oh, and merit only based promotions and raises....
and firings!
State Employee should be, “Employees at Will”. There should be language to protect from patronage and benefits that reflect those in the private sector, other than that Nada.
“Collectivists vs Taxpayers” ~ bray
Precisely.
All states right to work states
No compulsory union dues or fees
Starve the marxists plitical apparatus
Awesome! Shock and awe!
Unions of government employees should not be allowed. These unions use political power to bypass the real employers i.e. the public by use of coersion on another level of government employees i.e. politicians to milk the real employer i.e. the public. The argument that union members are also part of the public is nonsense when government unions become self serving. Most union leaders get their positions by mouth and intimidation.

mikey you are right! It’s a good start. The next step is to pass Right to Work laws in Ohio.
This is not what it appears.
What they are talking about here, if you look at the legislation is keeping everyone in a union controlled by the state. The state wants to take the dues and “invest” the money as it sees fit. Then take the proceeds and spend them as they see fit.
This is not the end of a union but a government run one that is not even remotely under the control of the people in it.
A VERY dangerous step in the wrong direction
No big deal, but the date of this article is Feb.9, not Feb. 14. Just a fyi.
Thanks Psalm 144 for the link.
Welcome to the private sector. That's called human nature, aka life.
NOT TRUE. Kasich's proposal has required annual union elections. If the members want to decertify, they have the chance once a year.
BTW I live in Ohio.
All I am saying is I encourage everyone to make sure that they read the bills. Illinois recently submitted one as well.
It turns every union into a state run program where the state is controlling not only the unions, but the funds to spend as they see fit.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to find that in years down the road, Unions were turned into government piggy banks to pay for pork while the people who work get nothing.
