“Reducing the deficit” is lib-speak for increasing the size of government while raising taxes.
The goal is reducing the size of government, not reducing the deficit. Let’s hope the GOP in congress don’t lose site if this.

Why do I suspect that there “Cut the deficit in half” language is dependent on some super rosey pie-in-the-sky predictions about how revenue is going to magically double in the next two years.
