The results of the CPAC straw poll of presidential candidates are in, and the winner is Ron Paul, with 30% of the vote. Mitt Romney was the runner-up with 23%, and all other candidates tied with about 6% each.
84% of the voters identified themselves as fiscal conservatives, placing their highest priority on economic growth and restraining the growth of government.

Do you really believe our main stream politicians? Answer this.
From Fox News-
Anwar Al-Awlaki may be the first American on the CIA’s kill or capture list, but he was also a lunch guest of military brass at the Pentagon within months of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Fox News has learned.

Paul is a hypocrite. Have you seen the list of earmarks he has requested.
Now look that up, pacman50.
Truth hurts. And yes “big government conservatives” are a different breed. You are funny with your “go to your room and eat your peas” statements. No substance..again.
Like I said....not perfect. And what “republican” are you supporting? Does he or she support the constitution?
The truth doesn’t hurt me...the truth is that Ron Paul is an out and out nut...
1. He got the same % last year as this year, roughly.
2. He will get the same # of GOP Primary votes, 2-3%...if that.
Now, how about them apples of truth?
Of course they haven't.
Does our country resemble what our forefathers envisioned?
Of course it does not.
Most FReepers are emotionally invested in their opinions and won't stop to think things through rationally. They are myopic and reactionary. They don't understand that the founders did not intend for the USA to become an empire. We followed the British Empire into the ash heap of history.
I heard Todd Friel talking recently on Wretched Radio. He was speaking about how unrealistic it is to go around to various countries and force "democracy" on them when they have no cultural history that would allow for them to understand a free and open form of government. They do not have the Protestant history that enabled the founders of America to create the government they did. They do not have even the desire to do it for themselves. Thus, it is futile to go force it on them. Friel's conclusion was that the gospel of Christ is what will change them and that's what we should export. I agree with him.
Most FReepers, on the other hand, think "We are afraid of you and we are going to tell you what to do or we are going to nuke you. We don't care if it takes 1000 years of military occupation, 10,000,000 dead Americans, or total collapse of the USSA economy. We are afraid!"
Like I said. Most FReepers are emotionally invested. They are not introspective. They are unquestioning in their acceptance of what the government tells them. They are addicted to the big government. They are unable to learn.
They have the government they deserve.
Well....I appreciate a substantive intelligent response.....finally. I actually agree with you.
Ron Paul is not mainstream and will not get the backing of the corporate controlled media. So chances are slim to none.
But for me...I will not be a good little sheep and follow the herd. I will only follow and support those who best represent freedom and liberty. Take care sir.
Read my tagline if you must know, but in reality it none of your business who I support.
Well said. Your are my brother in freedom.

What in blazes does that have to do with Ron Paul and libertarianism?
I asked, very politely, that you lay out Ron Paul’s libertarian defense of private property after 9-11.
As I said, I’ll wait for you to collect your thoughts. If you can’t collect the thoughts, buy a snow shovel.
Other than that, roll out your answer...
Oh...Sorry I hurt your feelings. Sarah Palin is ok. I wish her the best. She has some good qualities. However she does support the “military industrial complex”. So she is not for me....again sorry I made you upset. I thought this was an intelligent forum on issues. My bad.
Generalities tend to be a little fuzzy and based on a biased viewpoint, but then again I'm generalizing right now.
You sound delusional in your laughable claims about Freepers.
“They (Freepers)are unquestioning in their acceptance of what the government tells them.
That statement is fully incorrect. If these powers of observation are what you used when reading the Constitution an Federalist Papers...I’d suggest remedial reading and observation.
2%...just accept it.
Everyone was able to attend.
Gays, not gays, dopers, not dopers, crazies, not crazies.
Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are good at political campaigning.
Everybody else, remains to be seen. They all failed miserably. Is Washington DC really that remote a place?
Is the concept of IDing your voters and getting them to the polls an outdated concept in the world of politics?
CPAC is where Reagan spoke over 10 times.
Ron Paul spoke there, so did everybody else. Everybody else either has no supporters, or haven’t figured out who they are. They really have to do that. Ron Paul has id’d his supporters. Mitt has. No one else has supporters or knows who they are, or how to get them to the polls. This isn’t 2009, it’s 2011. It’s good to have supporters, know who they are, and get them to the polls.
Ron Paul was not crushing CPAC like this 4 years ago. More popular than ever.
Jeesh, you’re spinning like a top, homoboy. Why are you using such pretzel logic defending choosing homosexuality as a lifestyle choice?
heeesh, what a maroon.

Yeah, he was mocked in the debates by such notable lovers of Liberty as Giuliani, Romney and McCain.
Ron Paul said “much less government” and they all laughed.
They called him crazy. And then a couple months later McCain gave a gazillion dollars to the banks.
LOL. Boy aren’t you funny. Save It.
Isn’t it sickening to see people who think they are conservatives mock our military and our industry.
When Ronald Reagan heard one of our military jets overhead...he called it, “...the sound of Freedom...”
We still don’t have all of the answers to 9/11. Our politicians have lied to us over and over. Ron Paul and a few others have common sense and do not follow blindly or recklessly in to war. Of course Ron Paul and other intelligent human beings believe in self defense.
So chose another topic of self defense. Until we get all of the answers about 9/11, it is not a good example.
Heard of Building 7? And before you jump to a emotionally charged, media controlled response...be a free independent american and look it up for yourself. You might be surprised.
