I was thinking about our Vice President Emeritus today as I cleaned my vintage Savage Fox side by side 12 gauge. He and I are very close in age but I don't have the pacemaker/defibulator implanted in me as of yet.

That was one of the first times I've seen him wearing a hat! He had so danged much GRAVITAS that it has just devoured the left in their own frustration and hatred that they could not overcome his brilliance until he had an unfortunate, unforeseen hunting accident.

Then they could finally heap ridicule upon him with impunity!!! Letterman still cannot stop even though you know he must admire our man's GRAVITAS!!!

Now if I could only find those boxes of 00 Buck I hid around here about 20 years ago. Shazzam!!!

Re ammo for your 12 gauge, one of our younger relatives advised me to buy size 6 or 8 bird shot for home protection.

There is less chance of the bird shot going through a few dry walls and hitting an innocent person in your home or a neighobor.

Any bad pos hit with a 12 gauge 6 or 8 bird shot is disabled and in a world of pain for a long time. They will be hit with a lot of individual shot which will bring in clothing parts and other material into their body for damage then and infections later on.

I discussed this with some MDs, who hunt, and they said the bird shot is an awesome weapon at close range. One recommended a crouch shot at the guys breaking in.
