So Carter loses Iran and Zero loses Egypt.

Ironically, it was Carter who won Egypt in 1978, then drunk with success he ousted the Shaw and lost Iran to the fundamentalists.

I don't think Carter did anything. He just happened to be President at the time and took the credit for it.
