At the center of what many critics have called an overblown debate about the nationality of her wardrobe, Michelle Obama is making the rounds with the press this week to talk about that and the issues she really wants to talk about. At a lunch with reporters in the White House yesterday, the first lady clad in a Marc Jacobs dress and silver pumps said she wears what looks good, irrespective of label.
I like to patronize American designers, and the vast majority of the clothes that I wear are [designed by Americans.] But there are a lot of other designers that have cute stuff, too, Obama said. I don't think that Im any different from any other woman, other than the fact that people see what I wear and then they talk about it.
If that's not a practical enough explanation, you know how else she picks out her clothes?
Its really just sort of, how cold is it? Do I have to stand outside, and what am I going to use to cover my arms if Im freezing so Im not shivering while I have to give a speech? Its really stuff like that. And I know people are sort of thinking that its different, but its real practical stuff like that.

And finally addressing her own style for just a moment, she said of the attention paid to it, "I take it as a compliment." She was quick to add, "It's not something I focus on ... Everybody's got to get dressed in the morning and put on something. I hope people find it nice, but it's not something I focus on." Makes one of us.

I don’t care what she wears to cover up that enormous rear end. She has hideous taste. That said, I wish someone would hunt down and punish the inventor of the boob belt.
They are indeed distracting and draw one’s attention from the wearer.
A definite plus.
“I like to patronize American designers”
PATRONIZE
1
: to act as patron of : provide aid or support for
2
: to adopt an air of condescension toward : treat haughtily or coolly
3
: to be a frequent or regular customer or client of

She presumably meant definition #3, but given her attitude towards most other things American, most people are likely to assume she meant #2.
“Weeezie” is jus’ movin’ on up.
Cute would not describe Moochie no matter what rag she drapes over her football player frame.
Yellow gunboat sized shoes look ghastly with that get up she has on in that pic.
WHo dresses this woman ??? She looks like wookie a circus clown outfit. All she needs it the red nose to make it comlete.
Yeah, she dresses like crap. Whoever “advises” her on fashion, whether it’s herself or a battery of “consultant” must be blind . . or select her wardrobe via a dart board.
Not to mention that body that could use an overhaul.
I think the more important question is the nationality of her husband.
“said she wears what looks good,”
Obviously Obama is no Abe Lincoln, he doesn’t tell her the truth when she asks.

Weezie always looked very nice and well put together, MO never does.
That’s the best she’s looked in a long time!!
Why does anyone care about her clothes? And what’s with the name calling? Seriously people, that’s something I’d expect over at DU.
If I was president my wife would still be buying clothes at TJ Max and you all would make fun of her too.
That explains A LOT!!!
Goodness. The dress is ugly enough, but the yellow shoes with it?!?!?
“Cute” and “Michelle Obama” in the same sentence?
No.
