Classical Arab poetry is quite powerful:

Roses are red,

Violents are blue,

If you're an infidel,

I'll kill you.

Today is a good day to die.
I didn't say for whom.

Do you suppose that will mean pet goats in the classrooms instead of hamsters?

Yes, I think the superintendent may have gotten an earful from the 200 + people attending the meeting.

Not that I think the public schools should mandate learning Arabic, there is a real need for Arabic translators in the State Department, Military, Intelligence agencies, ...

I did some contracting work about 4 years ago for the Pentagon to help them recruit students wanting to learn Arabic or Chinese. The government was offering some pretty generous programs to send students overseas for some "total immersion" learning programs.

Knowing Arabic could be handy for some folks; it will be a predominate language in Hell.

When I was a lad in the 1980s, Japanese was supposed to be THE language to learn. Then, in the 1990s, it was Spanish, and later with the rise of the EU, French or German. Lately, it was Mandarin.

I'd say stick with Mandarin. That is not a fad by a long shot.

This is a great example of the useless, even counterproductive, activity that goes on at the federal Education Dept. and why that department’s budget should be cut by at least 50% in the next budget. It’s outrageous that we’re running up national debt to pay for worthless programs like these language classes and to pay the salaries of the useless bureaucrats who administer these programs. The House Republicans need to start with the worthless DOE and eliminate at least half of its budget, then move on to the EPA and cut at least 25% from its budget.

If I was a homeowner trying to sell my house in the Mansfield Madrassa District I would be talking to lawyers about the plummeting real-estate value.

What is worse than this being a mandatory “education”, is the fact that the supervisors just flat out don’t care about the students and if the Department of Education said “require courses in Klingon - here is some money” the supervisors would do it. That is how little respect they have for the kids, the parents and the tax payers.

The money will probably be plowed into upgrading faculty staff cars, lounge areas and pay raises. Screw the kids.

20 years ago, the mere act of home-schooling was a radical and thrilling adrenalin rush, a finger-poke in the eye of The System. Today, I think God requires more of us

I have some derelict friends who are part of the government edjumakation cartel and they routinely gripe about the lack of parental involvement - except when they are complaining about something. Now I know why.

Every parent who actually cares about their child has already pulled their kid out of the government propaganda programs and are either home-schooling or enrolled in private schools. All that remains are the cretins who aren't the least bit embarrassed that their illiterate spawn has three meals at school and "graduates" as an illiterate homosexual environmental marxist.

We can now add that they can pretend to read the Koran in the original. Wow, a seventh century language for a seventh century education.

“Why are American citizens allowing this crap to happen?”

Easy, the public schools DO NOT answer to the parents. They answer to the people that give them their money, which is the the GOVERNMENT.

So for all you conservative parents defending your WONDERFUL public schools...think about it, please.
