Hosting a 'green' Super Bowl party

If you have plans to host a Super Bowl party, you may need to deal with trash talking guests, but you don't have to deal with bags of trash from the party. Do your part by hosting a greener party, no matter what colors your team sports.
THE BEER: You'll probably be stocking up on most of your party supplies at the grocery store. If beer is on your list, consider trying a few varieties of organic or locally brewed beers.
If you're having a large crowd, renting a keg is both more economical and less wasteful. A full-size keg holds the equivalent of 165 12-ounce containers of beer and can be refilled and used over and over again.
For individually packaged beverages of all kinds, the greener choices are ones packaged in aluminum cans. Aluminum is the most valuable and cost-effective material that we recycle.
Plus, aluminum can be recycled and back on the store shelves as new product in a matter of weeks.
OTHER BEVERAGES: When serving water, the best choice is to provide a pitcher of ice water and reusable glasses for your guests. If bottled water is a must, buy bottles made with less plastic and make sure they get recycled.
PLATES, UTENSILS: Reusable dinnerware and utensils are the least wasteful means of throwing a party, but it's not always practical. When shopping for disposable products like napkins and paper towels, look for ones made from recycled paper.

Who’d a thunk all those keg parties in college were good for the environment. :)

True that! Also, think about all the earth-fouling hydrocarbons burned and CO2 generated by having your friends drive to your house. I would certainly hope they would all hoof it.

I have the perfect solution to post Superbowl pollution.
Attend an Obama rally and just leave your trash there. Who could tell? It IS their custom is it not.

My wife and I planned to have a “Green” Super Bowl party long before they came up with this. We’ll both be dressed in “Green” today, as will our puppy with his “Green” scarf. Oh, did I mention there’s “Gold” in there as well?

What arrogance. What presumption. What collectivism.

We are the top of the food chain. Our duty is to perfect our species and to dominate all others. Our duty is to utilize anything provided to us to complete the never ending instructions to perfection.
“Being green” is a virus to our genetic programming that acts as any virus does, it replicates and subverts the system.
Every time you choose plastic over paper, then persons who plant trees for a living have been given less to do thus endangering their jobs and the ability to provide for their family(their evolutionary line),same can be said for those who cut the trees, to those who sell the wood, to those who make the paper, to those who make and sell the bags.
Every “green” decision that puts an inferior creature's well being in front of our own does similar damage to our species.
Being green is a virus and should be treated as such.

Only Packers fans can have a “green” Super Bowl party.

He can go to H**l in a hand basket. I'm buying the most unfriendly environmental food and drink I can find. When I'm done consuming all the leftovers and trash will be thrown in the neighbors yard.
