The Palin supporters are like the Ron Paul ones of 2007. Utterly delusional about their candidate’s chances, thinking there’s a mass media conspiracy against them when really the media is building them up in the first place, denial of polling reality, the thinking that the number of internet fanboys on MySpace/Facebook/YouTube means something, the bragging about fundraising numbers, etc. Same crap.
Not to mention the ceaseless worship and zealotry re: their candidate. Never seem very tolerant towards anyone who dares a negative word against them. It’s national politics and there is no room for the kids’ gloves.
I wouldn’t go that far. Lotsa Palin supporters are reasonable and understand she has her flaws just like every other candidate, including the ones I prefer. I get along great with those folks. There is a small core of folks here, I call them the cultists, that are as you describe. As you can see by the multitude of pictures of Sarah on this thread.
In reflection, Ron Paul certainly would have made a better president, but looks and winning over the media means everything..now the Ron Paul types are “in favor”. Sometimes people are just ahead of their time..Geek is In.
