Two things to note.

This is a CITY uprising. The farmers etc are not evident.

Bad development when they turn on each other. Means the cops and the Army will have to pick sides.

I’ve wondered about the rest of the country too- though we’ve seen a lot of this in Alexandria as well...but as far as the country goes- no media there- who knows?

“Bad development when they turn on each other. Means the cops and the Army will have to pick sides.”

A pretry standard strategy for the incumbent regime. First, force violent clashes in the streets. Then when Egyptians are dying, there is ample justification to bring the army in to settle things down. So it’s not current government + army vs. protestors, it’s respected national army preventing the shedding of Egyptian blood. Then when the army has things under control, you plan the transition away from Mubarak.
