Are Obama, Reid, and McConnell about to Kill the Tea Party?

OK folks, this is my prediction: Harry will act like he cannot stop the repeal vote in the Senate and the Senate will approve the repeal. Then Obama will complain, but will eventually sign the repeal. No veto.

What makes me say this? Because the fix is in!

And guys like Mitch McConnell are part of it. The media is part of it...

This action will keep Obamacare from going to the Supreme Court and potentially embarrassing Obama and Democrats. It will take the spotlight off the exemptions and the added taxes. It allows Obama to claim that things have changed from 2008 and that he is just doing the will of the people by signing the repeal. His signature on the repeal will make him appear as a centrist. And most of all … it deals a major blow to the Tea Parties.

Without Obamacare, the Tea Parties will lack a central issue to demonize Obama and Democrats in 2012. Then if Obama actually cuts government spending and deficits, the wind will be taken totally out of the Tea Parties’ sails.

The old line guys like McConnell don’t want the Tea Parties. They can’t control them (remember that McConnell wanted to continue earmarks until the Tea Parties pressured him). So of course McConnell is cooperating with Reid and Obama to use methods for repeal that make it look like Reid cannot not stop it...

Republicans and Democrats all get things that they want … and most of all; they all get rid of the Tea Parties. Without this going to the Supreme Court, Americans are the ones who lose. How will we the people find out the limitations of Congress?

What a bunch of con men!

Beg to doubt...

The Health Care issue may have been the most important single issue driving the formation of the Tea Party, but repealing it will not make the Tea Party go away.

Health care was simply the most identifiable of numerous onerous power abuses emanating from Washington. The public is awake now. Simply repealing health care will not put them back to sleep.

Very. VERY. EFFING VERY INTERESTING conjecture. Utterly brilliant strategy if it is true, but I don't think egos will allow this.

While it will surpress TEA stuff (a little) it will also rob Obama of his one 'victory'. That, going into 2012, would dearly hurt him.

the media is already trying to paint Obama as being like Reagan.

this is not about the tea party. it is about independent voters.

the tea party influenced independent voters in the 2010 elections. but if independent voters think that Obama has moved to the middle, then they will no longer pay attention to the Tea Party.

as instructed by Alinsky, Obama will do anything ... anything ... to maintain power. He will do anything to win. and the media will help him.

He will sign the repeal of Obamacare. he will keep this from the Supreme Court. he will cut spending. and he will cut the deficit.

the independent voters will notice.

you said “While it will surpress TEA stuff (a little) it will also rob Obama of his one ‘victory’. That, going into 2012, would dearly hurt him.”

it will hurt Obama more if the Supreme Court rules Obamacare to be unconstitutional. Obama does not want this to go to the Supreme Court. the only way Obama can stop it from going to the Supreme Court is to repeal Obamacare or at least the mandatory insurance. Obama wants that to happen. and the media is going to help him spin it to sound like he never wanted mandatory insurance.

Obama may very well be tied to power over ideology and do whatever it takes to preserve his power. After all, without it, there is no “transformation of America”.

However, senate dems at teh pek of their power are not going to give him the opportunity

“””Without Obamacare, the Tea Parties will lack a central issue to demonize Obama and Democrats in 2012”””

What rock is this Master person sleeping under?

ObamaCare is but one of the many issues that rile the American Public.

The Tea Party is hardly a single issue political phenomena.

the Tea Party is much more than just getting Obamacare repealed. But how do the independent voters see it?

with Obamacare out of the spot light and with cuts to spending that reduce the deficits, the independent voters will ignore the Tea Party.

that is all Obama wants to do ... get the independent voters back.

If Obama signs an Obamacare repeal (the only way it CAN be repealed before 2013), it will give us more time to concentrate on the other unpopular Obama policies. Since people do not like his big spending bill of early 2009 (the original cause of the Tea Party) this would leave him with fewer accomplishments than Carter.

I disagree. Even if the repeal gets through Congress, obama will never sign it. That piece of cra... "legislation" is obama's crown jewel of bringing socialism to America. He'll never let it go.

Even if he did, for whatever manipulative reasons you want to assign... As you say, we TEA Party types still have huge government spending and deficits to draw attention to and continue to make big-government Democrats unpopular. obama could maybe cut spending, some, but not enough to matter without totally alienating his radical, government-dependent base.

Even if he (and the GOP controlled House could help here) manages to get spending under control (fat chance, but let's play what-if)... There is still the inconceivably large deficit he and his cohorts in crime have racked up. That just cannot go away in time to save him and his fellow 'rats.

Even with the MSM 'rat propaganda machine downplaying spending and deficit - two things I'm sure will still be an issue in '12 - then there is ongoing unemployment and underemployment. Quite simply, businesses are not going to turn around and start hiring anytime soon. It would take a significant boost in their confidence in the government as being business-friendly instead of business-hostile. That can (and will eventually have-to) happen, but it won't happen significantly enough, soon enough, to make a difference in '12.

Then there is the ongoing border security issue and immigration issue. obama is on the wrong side of these compared to most Americans.

Then there is the total lack of transparency, shady deals, and cronyism going on. With a GOP House, look for some investigations to actually start - maybe in DOJ! (how ironic) That will lead to the administration and 'rats loosing face and credibility and trust...

If they really wanted to take the wind out of the TEA Party's sails... obama and crew would have to repeal obamacare, cut spending (primarily on un-Constitutional social programs and entitlements), cut taxes, balance the budget (or better, generate a surplus), reduce the deficit and actually have a plan for paying it off, stop the runaway anti-business over-regulation environment, reduce the size and scope of the federal government, secure the border, enforce immigration laws, address radical Islam... So yeah, if he started doing all that the TEA Party wouldn't have much to complain about. It wouldn't matter 'cause we'd have a limited-government conservative in office. Hey, if he's going to act like a conservative and govern like one, I don't care if he gets re-elected. (providing he can actually prove beyond a shadow of a doubt this time that yes, he is legal/eligible)

After signing the repeal, another thing that will help Obama keep his power in 2012 is that he can blame the mean old Republican party for taking away everyone’s “free” healthcare. Folks keep underestimating just how completely stupid Obama voters are. They will eat that lie up because they are too mentally deficient to realize they are going to be penalized for NOT having healthcare, instead of getting it “free”.

Ignorant people get the government they deserve.

You seem to be laboring under the misapprehension that there is a category of folks called ‘independent voters’. There is no such thing as an ‘independent voter’ — they are simply people who are not currently interested in pressing political issues. They have no beliefs of their own and make political decisions, if any, just before an election. Since they do not exist, you can’t gain their allegiance.

It’s kind of difficult to say how truly independent voters see it. Do they pay attention to the media? If they do, the TEA Parties are nothing but a bunch of hot headed racists. If the independents ignore the media’s portrayal, the TEA Parties stand for Taxed Enough Already. Is Unemployment over 9 percent? Do we have multiple trillions of dollars in deficits coming? Then the independent voters are still with us.

I won’t mention all the traitorous RINOs that still need to be thrown out of office. They have no need for listening to “we the people” either. As long as some independents still see themselves as part of a constitutional, by the people and for the people govt., they will be with the TEA Parties.

Something will happen to O-Care. The RATz know that with the personal mandate in place in 2012 they lose ALL in the election.

Why would a major victory towards less government be viewed as deflating?

Santelli's rant on the floor of the Commodities Exchange, wherein the Tea Party was first mentioned, spoke mostly of mortgages, stimulus packages, and the generally cuckoo economics in Washington and never mentioned O-care.
