Rep. Ron Paul calls Egypt a "mess" made by U.S. intervention
The Dallas Morning News ^ | 01/31/2011 | Todd J. Gillman

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, is blaming U.S. policy for the upheaval in Egypt.

"This is a typical example of what happens when we run on intervention-type foreign policies. We get in the middle of these fights. We've been in the middle of this for 30 years now. We've given Mubarak $60 billion. We're responsible for a lot of the mess that is over there," Paul said this afternoon on FOX News Channel's Your World with Neil Cavuto.

Paul, a potential Senate candidate in Texas next year, is a longstanding critic of foreign entanglements, and probably Congress' leading isolationist. His son, Sen. Rand Paul , R-Ky., caused a stir in recent days by advocating for the cutoff of aid to Israel, in the context of a broader push to eliminate all foreign aid. It's a goal he shares with his father.

"I wouldn't just cut off Egyptian aid. I'd cut off all aid to the Middle East and maybe that whole area would be better off for it," the congressman told Fox.

As for concerns that the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood, or even Al-Qaeda, would fill the power vacuum if Mubarak is forced out, Paul said the real problem stems from a U.S. habit of propping up authoritarian leaders. Both Mubarak and the deposed Shah of Iran became targets of popular revolt because they were "our puppet government," he said.

So Ron’s answer is to let the Muslims kill all Jews and Christians, Hindu, etc, on the face of the earth.

That’s there goal.

Silence is consent.

Egypt’s problems, and the problems they are going to have very soon are Islam’s fault. It wouldn’t have mattered what America did or didn’t do. America’s biggest mistake has been in thinking Islam can be managed and made safe for modern civilization. It can’t.

Muslim Brotherhood now has our secrets and they will trash any agreement with Israel. Things are worse.
And it is not the fault of the USA.

Ron Paul is an anti-semite and an isolationist.

And we have a winner here. If the MB comes to power, it's our fault for creating the conditions in Islamism grows. If hadn't thought of sovereign states as political playgrounds we wouldn't have to worry about what happens when thug rulers fall or turn on us like Saddam did.

But if Mr. Paul was President could he and would he prosecute a war old school if he had to ?

Not paying for friendship is a good idea, but inevitably those countries would develop a much stronger relationship with Russia and China and buy their military hardware from them. Using money we paid them for oil - ouch. This way, if we sell them things, the oil money comes back to many big U.S. companies and gives us jobs.

Disengagement would have to be accompanied by leaning on them like... well, leaning on them hard. We’d have to do much more of a hardsell than a softsell diplomatically. It would produce much more dirty laundry. We’d have to get them to pay full retail for all the hardware and services we sell them.

Just more buffoonery from the man who stated the following:

1. Called the American Civil War a mistake
2. Criticized Ronald Reagan as a "failure,"
3. And refused to rule out a third party run in 2008.

What a JACKWAGON. Any country we gave foreign aid too according to Paul would be cause for blame.

Great, let’s cut foreign aid to all countries!

OMG. . .don't know if Paul's ignorance is to be feared; or just ignored.

Cannot stand him, or his son - no matter how 'right' they imagine themselves.
