Judge uses Obama’s words against him
The Washington Times ^ | January 31, 2011 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 01/31/2011 2:48:41 PM PST by Kaslin

In ruling against President Obama‘s health care law, federal Judge Roger Vinson used Mr. Obama‘s own position from the 2008 campaign against him, arguing that there are other ways to tackle health care short of requiring every American to purchase insurance.

“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of the 78-page ruling Monday.

Judge Vinson, a federal judge in the northern district of Florida, struck down the entire health care law as unconstitutional on Monday, though he is allowing the Obama administration to continue to implement and enforce it while the government appeals his ruling.

The footnote was attached to the most critical part of Judge Vinson‘s ruling, in which he said the “principal dispute” in the case was not whether Congress has the power to tackle health care, but whether it has the power to compel the purchase of insurance.

Judge Vinson used Mr. Obama‘s campaign words from an interview with CNN to show that there are other options that could fall within the Constitution — including then-candidate Obama‘s plan.

‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote.

This is a Reagan appointee!

ROFL !

I'm SURE we'll hear this repeated by the State-Run-Media!/sarc

OTOH, that's why we had the "housing crisis/mortgage fiasco"....Congress FORCED banks to loan to un-qualified buyers, and they never made a mortgage payment, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac got the TAXPAYERS (aka, those "rich white bastards") pay the mortgages FOR the un-qualified buyers!

They are trying to pull the same crap with OBAMACARE, forcing "those rich white bastards" to pay the healthcare costs of minorities and illegals through their new scheme......TOTALLY UN-CONSTITUTIONAL ON ITS FACE (Equal Protection), and likewise, FORCES PENALTIES if you try to insure yourself outside in the private insurance sector.

Is this justice or what? Here zero is trying to pretend he’s another Reagan and he gets hammered by the real man, well, his surrogate, and the judge uses Obama’s own words.

LOLOL

Cosmic justice.

Sadly this has to now go through the appeals process and that means......

A leftist democrat judge will strike this ruling down.

95% of judges are democrats, so the odds of getting an honorable honest judge is next to impossible.

I’m shocked that :
1) anyone remembers anything Onumnuts says
2) another person is actually sincere enough to hold him to his own continuous contridictions.

When I read the title of the article I thought it was going to be about “I am in favor of a single payer health care system”. Then I realized it could be any one of a thousand lines he’s said then contradicited the statemnt via the passage of Obamastrosity care.
asshat

Obama, here’s your pie.

Crow Pie:

1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 Pie crust mixes
2-3 hard-boiled eggs

Stuff the crow. Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.

Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper. Remove meat from bones and set aside.

Prepare pie crusts as directed. (Do not bake)

Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.

Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg. Place crow meat on top. Layer gravy over the crow. Place second pie dough crust over top.

Bake at 450 degrees for 1/2 hour.

Wait until the 2012 presidential campaign. There will be so much material (3+ years worth) to use against the fraud, if he survives the eligibility issue that is.

It will get appealed up through the courts anyway. If the states lose the next round they will appeal to the SC. It’s headed for the Supremes no matter what a lower court decides.

Incredibly dumb statement. Have you researched the backgound of each of the thousands of judges in the United States? Have you researched the backgroudn of each of the hundreds of Federal judges that sit across the country? Do you even know the backgrounds of the the judges that sit in the court of appeals for the circuit that will hear this appeal? Do you even know the name and location of the circuit that will hear the appeal? Didn't think so.

Obama knew it was unconstitutional then but only changed his tune when he realized he had to pay for it.
