The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest opposition group,is in talks with other anti-government figures to form a national unity government without President Hosni Mubarak, a group official told DPA on Sunday.

Also, pro-Islamic factions will be able to have much better "official" relations with the U.S. under the current administration, i.e., for the next 2 years.
A "good" relationship with the U.S. can open the floodgates for very large Islamic migrations to the U.S. down the road, as a "new, moderate" aspect to the new regime would make it politically much more feasible to allow trade and travel between Egypt and the U.S. On the other hand, if extremist radicals completely take over Egypt, that would actually be a huge setback for Islamic radicalism, as Egypt would not then be as politically correct in the U.S. and therefore would not serve as well to stoke an "open door" U.S. policy.
How about an alliance between the Muslim Brotherhood and Gitmo.
president carter 2?
Deja Vu Carter style..
president carter 2?
Unfortunately true.
Well, I’m implicitly wondering about the root of, and timing of, this uprising. It appears that the administration really did not know this was going to happen, i.e., was caught sleeping.
But it does seem, on the balance, that it possibly could wind up helping radical Islam to move more of it’s people inside the U.S., which is the opposite of what’s best for U.S. national security, of course.
Also, seems like gold was falling the past week or so, making me wonder just how far it would have fallen, as wall street and the administration were all forecasting a nice business comeback for 2011, which seemed like it was causing money to move out of gold. Of course, without job creation, economic reality would have set in within a few months anyway, but it kind of smells like people who would like to see the U.S. stumble and fall...
Dittos on that!!
Of course there will be no Islamic Republic of Egypt!/s
This is very scary for the U.S. Most Americans do not have a clue. Israel is in big trouble as is Europe. I really wonder what the administration is thinking, I read Obama was pushing for this for 2 years.
ElBaradei should remember what happened to the moderates who were acting as the face of the revolution in Iran.
Once the takeover was completed, within a few months, they were all executed while the Mullahs and hardliners seized all power.
I don’t see where Haaretz thinks the army is in all of this.
Yep over at DU they are saying the the muslim brotherhood are really good guys,it is America who has made them look like bad guys...
Israel has a right to be scared, Egypt has a big military who i believe will be hostile towards Israel now.
Obama as a muslim i know what he is thinking, Obama as a American i have know idea what he is thinking..
Dhimmi Carter abandoned the Shah of Iran, paving the way for Khomeini to take over, and bring an islamist Dark Age to Iran that is still going on. Carter’s foreign policy advisor: Zbigniew Brzezinski.
Now we have the evil muslim obama, who is throwing Hosni Mubarak under the bus, paving the way for muslim Brotherhood rule of Egypt, in collaboration with the vile New World Order figurehead ElBaradei. Among obama’s foreign policy advisors: Zbigniew Brzezinski. Some say that Brzezinski is obama’s mentor, from back when he was at Columbia.
America—as well as Iran, Tunisia, Egypt, Serbia, and Israel—has had WAY more than enough. It’s time to stop the evil muslim/New World Order cabal once and for all!!!!

Dr Mohamed ElBaradei, former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and now a partner with the Muslim Brotherhood. Anyone wonder why he couldn’t find atomic weapons in Iran?
