Ping for you and the band.
I was just about to ping all of you. But checked on this thread first.
Thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts, concern and prayers for my friend’s daughter. I just left their home. (they invited us for dinner as long as I could bring it. Which I did....spaghetti, salad and bread) They didn’t want to leave their phones, computer, etc.....totally understandable. Their daughter, along with 45 other students from Augustana College, are still in Cairo. We have five Rapid City, SD, kids trapped there. Half of the students are at the airport right now waiting on a flight out. The other half are supposed to leave on Tuesday. These SoDak kids have been staying at a hotel very near the airport.(supposedly in a ‘safe’ area)
Our senator, John Thune, is very active in trying to get them safe passage home.
Brief note about Augustana College. It is a Christian school, primarily Lutheran. Great school and great students go there....very conservative. Our SoDak kids are strong and tough.
Our friend’s daughter was able to contact them through her Satellite phone. (which fades in and out) She seems to view it all as a great adventure, but is still a bit frightened. Her strong faith is sustaining her and her friends, but, as with most young people that age, they think they are immortal. (which may not be a bad thing.)
Your continued prayers are appreciated. Thanks again.
